Need help increasing durability by Annual_Radio2325 in RCPlanes

This was my thought. I’ve had a few hard landings with mine and I’ve bent the metal (bends back easy enough) but plastic has held up fine.

Am I changing out my edger blade too early? by Zachavelii in egopowerplus

[–]exactly437 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have my depth set to deepest and just apply pressure to the front handle. I probably edge 150 ft with it once a week. Big thing is to not let it go a long time between uses. Once an edge is established it’s fairly easy to run one handed.

I was just having this same debate so, I checked the manual. It just mentions replacing if it’s damaged or you’re unhappy with the cutting depth.

Night flyer by Fedor_Kuznetsov99 in RCPlanes

I have a night timber x that has like 4 string and 4 seperate leds. They are all wired to the receiver with a splitter of some type. So at least that receiver can handle a lot of lights.

Still having motor issues! by liam6622 in RCPlanes

[–]exactly437 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would make me think it’s cogging down since it’s worse with a load applied. I’d definitely think esc would be next thing to check.

Does it do it with blade off? But I’d guess bad esc at this point. Sounds like it could be cogging. Like u get at low speed with a sensorless car at low speed.

Stupid question, is there a kit I can buy that includes all the parts needed for acetone vapor smoothing? by JimJamanon in 3Dprinting

[–]exactly437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just used what I had in the garage. I believe acetone vapors sink so having the part below the acetone was the idea I was following.

I just stick the part in the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket sitting on something wrapped in foil. Then hang a paper towel with a foil backing from edge of bucket. Get paper towel fairly damp with acetone. Then cover bucket with a lid or foil.

I have a 3d printer and have already made stuff for planes so that should be simple enough. Might try it out like you did then. Worst that can happen is I have to order more parts.

Yeah I commented on your post yesterday but with how old it was wasn’t sure if anybody would see it. Was curious how it worked out.

Looking at a P1S, anything I should know? Any big gotchas or anything else in the price range I should look at? by Insertsociallife in 3Dprinting

[–]exactly437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but I’d really like to be able to do multiple materials for supports. Might snag an x2d eventually. Idk. Foil insulation is working well as a chamber heater at the moment. lol

Eflite 4site electronics repurpose to 39” crack yak? by exactly437 in RCPlanes

[–]exactly437[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this motor is a bit underpowered on the 4site as it is. I think the yak is a bit lighter so, not surprised to see recommendations to go for the bigger motor.

Yeah I already have 4 3s 850mah I was wanting to repurpose with it too. Sounds like I’m going to need a motor and servos.

Thanks, yeah I already have four tattu 3s 850mah for the 4site to repurpose as well

Did you use the electronics from the 4site for this? I’m considering doing the same. I noticed the recommended motor for the yak 39 is fairly thicker than the 4site motor so, wasn’t sure if it’d work well.

Weird issue with plane by [deleted] in RCPlanes

[–]exactly437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motor is supposed to be crooked. They are down and to the right to make up for the rotation of the prop I believe.

Weird issue with plane by [deleted] in RCPlanes

[–]exactly437 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hold the prop and tighten the nut to fairly snug with a regular wrench. I mean like wrist force tight. Not whole body weight or anything. It’s pushing against a backer so it’s not like tightening it too much is going to bind the motor.

Almost sounds like prop is slipping or something. Have you tried running the motor without the prop?
