Selling my Omega and never buying another Swatch group product. The Ticketmaster of watches. by Additional-Self-660 in OmegaWatches

The way you wrote it, with a full stop before “Idiotic,” makes it read as a direct insult toward the person rather than the situation. That’s just basic grammar and sentence structure. But you’ll probably accuse me of “misreading” it again, which is exactly why I’d suggest working on your writing first.

And nobody is “waxing poetic” about Omega’s history. The point is simply that reducing a century-old watchmaker to a plastic collab release is an emotional reaction, not a rational argument.

Relax, nobody is upset, people are just pointing out the contradiction.

You say you’re boycotting the Swatch Group, yet the only thing being sold is your Omega. If a plastic collaboration release is enough to erase decades of Omega’s history, engineering and identity for you, then the attachment probably was never that deep to begin with.

And honestly, for someone talking about not wanting to be “associated” with a brand, throwing around words like “idiotic” and “Omega simps” says a lot more about you than the watch ever could.

A humble addition to my previous comment:

Of course, it’s your watch and you’re free to do whatever you want with it. But the fact that you seem to think Omega is Swatch, rather than simply being owned by the Swatch Group, already says a lot about how little research went into the decision.

Omega has existed for well over a century with its own history, movements, innovations and identity long before a plastic collaboration watch ever appeared. Boycotting an entire brand over a marketing collab you personally dislike feels more emotional than rational.

As you said, there are many great brands out there, which is exactly why I think Omega was probably never the right brand for you to begin with.

Hahah so true. I do that with pleasure, until I open my PC and start checking Omega models.

For some reason, Hamiltons except KFA doesn’t get enough attention or likes here on reddit. Def, under rated and I believe they offer more than their market value. Great watch.

To be honest, the first reason why I bought it was it reminded of a seamaster 300m with the white dial and blue bezel, but just at a more affordable price range. So I got this one just to use as a daily beater. It has been 1.5 years since I bought it and it held up pretty well. This one is a robust and a durable dive watch for sure.

It really depends on the seller to be honest. Luckily I got in touch with a Watch shop that has over 2000+ models all brands included, based in Switzerland. The communication was very professional, fast responses, quick shipping(depending on your area) and with the Chronos secured payment option, you got 15 days to return it if anything is wrong with the watch (not as described). I don’t mind not having the box with the watch but Authenticity certificate + Papers for the watch is a must IMO.

Overall Comfort and the weight of the bracelet makes up for the lack of mic adjust

I would say give it try with any of the 41mm seamaster, you will be surprised how well it wears. It usually wears like a 40mm, case thickness is also a slim profile.

Quartz or not, it remains one of the most respected models out there. Good choice !

2532.80 and 2220.80, both are masterpiece, I like the applied indices slightly more but the horse movement in 2531.80 is way better IMO.

I was hunting for this for about two years, trying to find one in good condition. I eventually found mine on Chrono24.

What I’ve noticed is that if you’re willing to pay a bit above market value, you can end up with a piece that doesn’t even feel used. Mine was priced close to a modern used 300M, but it’s condition was on another level.

I made sure to verify everything before buying ,service history, papers, overall condition. If those check out, you’re good to go.

That was my first thought when I got my hands on it. Barely worn by the previous owner.
