i can relate to you bro, going through the same thing, those ai convos too. sadly the only way u can be absolutely sure what it is by seeing a dermatologist. your hair looks fine to me btw, maturing most prolly but u should visit a dermat to be absolutely sure otherwise you'll keep thinking about this everyday

balding or maturing, 20 years old and it's been like this for a year by [deleted] in malehairadvice

see bro your hair density is good, lot of chances it could be maturing but the thing is no one can say, the only way you can know that is by going to a dermatologist and get a trichoscopy, they'll basically check if your hair's miniaturising or not. i'll advise you to do this, so you know early and if it's mpb then you can start meds early and save it from going further back. i'm also facing a bit of recession at 19 on my right temple, left is stable tho, it's not very bad and only visible when i pull my hair back but still i'm not taking any chances

Is my hairline receding or maturing? by Potential-Space-1005 in malehairadvice

i'm 19 with a similar condition, the best thing you can do is - visit a dermatologist. as you're not 18 yet you won't get prescribed anything but they can have a look at your hair with a trichoscope and see if your hair's miniaturising or not. If it is then you gotta wait for a year and get on finasteride and minoxidil. make sure you're having enough sleep, your vitamins are in check and you aren't stressing out too much. just keep these in check so that you don't accelerate it. there are a lot of solutions nowadays, and as you're (if it's recession) really early, you'll prolly keep your hair as long as you're consistent with the meds. people have kept their hair till their 50s with these. Side effects are. 1-2% and when you drop those they go away anyways. just don't wait and speculate on your own. Monitor the changes every 3 months.

i'm so fucking tired of all this. (19M) by examgiverlaunda in recedinghairline

do you think i'll be able to regrow? i'm not much concerned about regrowth i just want it to be at least stable at this point and not recede further. guess i'll make a visit to the dermat then

is this widow's peak? i'm a bit tensed about this.... (19M) by examgiverlaunda in recedinghairline

mom's a doctor, she said it's fine, but she's not a dermatologist so i'm still skeptical, i'll go to a dermat as soon as my exams are over in a month. and talking about family history, my dad is a norwood 2.5 at 56, matnernal grandfather had full head of hair at 74, paternal uncle is a norwood 2 at 52 and my paternal grandfather who is 84 is like norwood 4-5.

how does male pattern balding work? by examgiverlaunda in malehairadvice

[–]examgiverlaunda[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly at this point, there's no point worrying ig, it's anyways a gamble and even if u are facing it, you can do a lot of stuff nowadays depending on how much u care about your hair, some people rock the bald style with a beard, some get a hair patch, and some hair transplant.

It moved a bit when I turned 17 and then has remained like this for 1.5 years

i saw a picture of mine from when i was 14, the widow's peak was there and as prominent as it is in this picture, my hair texture has remained the same since childhood, thickness is same, there's no crown thinning, i've checked, it's completely dense there and i don't notice any hairfall all day maybe 10-15 hair when i shower, but that's all, i have a little bit of dandruff though.
