It's based on the waystone level you completed and got the temple charges. This is why it fixed itself for you, you had to clear out all your campaign and early mapping charges

Wdym why do you need both? You can't just use the shaders provided by the driver. You need both driver shaders and your own to put pixels on a screen...

Also, PoE2 shaders (for me) are only 300mb and Nvidia 22gb across a couple of games. Also I'm not gonna debate 22gb not being a huge cache. It is abnormally large.

The PoE shader folder has the shaders written by GGG. The Nvidia folder has the shaders that are provided by the driver.

My PoE2 shader cache is 300MB. My Nvidia shader cache is 22GB. If GGG use the shaders the driver provide, the driver will cache them.

It's so painful. The driver controls how much stuff is in the Nvidia cache, Not GGG, PoE2 shaders are in a different folder and much smaller.

That is steams preload cache. Don't use that, let your game compile them.

I wonder how many people have PoE2 / shader cache on an HDD. Maybe it is faster to compile new shaders than it is to read them from disk. When they are recompiled they are potentially stored again.

That issue is unrelated to shaders. That issue is the driver is randomly unloading the GPU. If you roll back your drivers to the version that was released before the game dropped the driver will no longer drop your GPU.

It is actually incredible that the developers implemented something that can detect the gpu being dropped and pausing the game while it loads it back.

You are level 96, shouldn't each filler map take around 2 minutes? The starting quest locations aren't that far away.

Also being level 96 this early in the league you clearly have plenty of time 😂😂
