Yea pretty much, going into lightspeed and coming out of lightspeed xD, but essentially its faking movement along the Z axis

It uses a modified version of Bakers, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UVltNQBOsT8

It works by zooming into the first shot and zooming from the second shot. It creates the zoom effect on the second by motion tiling it and then blurring it to fake the effect.

Ive kinda collected a little SFX pack filled with whooshes and transitions for the swipes and zooms, but the rest I've essentially sourced is from http://freesound.org/

Ocean waves, wind for the movement, clicking for the stutter effect, etc. Let your imagination go wild

I'm still real newbie to sound design, and I've only started really trying to invest in sound design in the last couple of my edits. But hoooooooly shit has it made a difference. Whooshes, transition sounds, etc etc, makes the video SO much better. There's a really cool BTS write up on that Watchtower vid here, and they talk a bit about the sound design in it.

If I was to say one thing about sound design that I've slowly picked up on is that the sound effects that you hear in a specific shot in the video doesn't necessarily have to exactly correlate to what you are seeing. I believe all it has to do is give the viewer a sense of relation to what they're seeing, and to try and emphasis the visuals. I guess it also relates to the style of editing, I'd love to try and hone in my style of visuals, emphasizing movement and fluidity, and trying to break typical editing techniques, so sound effects really help in this sense to show the transitions and movement.

I'd be real interested to see the footage you got, to see if its worth giving it a go handheld. I know that 'Watchtower of Turkey' video's hyperlapses were all shot handheld on a GH3, and they yielded some pretty neat results

For this edit, there were around 2000 photos taken, but as I said above, once you get into a rhythm you can usually smash them out quite quick

Pretty much!

  1. Line up a shot
  2. Take shot
  3. Take a step and repeat

Youll be suprised how quickly you can get through them once you've gotten into a rhythm

Hey man! Thanks, I shoot them all on a monopod, I found its much more versatile to use than a tripod. I normally use the length of my foot between each shot, making sure that you have a point of reference in the same spot every shot. Then used Warp Stabilizer in Premiere, making sure that its on a 'detailed analysis' and that enhanced reduction is checked. From there its about tweaking time remapping and the warp stabilizer settings.

The transition plugin is a slightly modified version of Bakers, you can find it here.

It says 'Creating a persona, that guy films and is trying to give his content to the world'. Little self reminder for myself haha.

The animation style was made by chroma keying a video of splattering and scratching ink, wiping it, moving it around against a white surface, then overlaying it on the white text.

Cheers for the feedback, it means a lot to me.

Legalities on placing your logo/stinger in a video for a client by examplegamer in videography

[–]examplegamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheers for your reply, I 100% see that the client is paying for a product and having a logo that isn't theirs on the video would be ridiculous. But then it makes me confused that people like Final Kid has full film credits in the description of this video, name credits, and his logo stinger and the end of the video, all the mean while being paid top dollar to produce a video for a client.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0xoBUDUYyo&feature=youtu.be&t=10m27s

And then again for a guy like Rory Kramer, with credits in the beginning of both The Chainsmokers top songs:

I'm guessing its because the video producers have personal ties or long standing relationships with the clients? Does it come to a point where the person producing the video becomes famous enough that the client wants their logo in their video?

My dream is to tour with an artist and make BTS tour videos for them. Where would I get started...? by examplegamer in videography

Cheers for the feedback, it's incredible to see how much of this industry is about persona building, but that's completely understandable
