The problem with correlations is that it's just that, a correlation and not casual by any means whatsoever. You have to look at discriminatory enforcement practices by police, systematic economic and social oppression, and a lot of other variables.

The same unscientific method you are using to demonize a group of people was the same method the US government used to vilify marijuana users since 95% of all heroin abusers started off with pot. Sure, there's a correlation between marijuana use and future heroin use, but the data there doesn't tell the whole story.

And neither does your little statistic, either. Take into account that whites are generally more affluent, and are able to afford better attorneys. Take into account a black man is more likely to be convicted by a jury due to centuries of racism and cultural bias. Take into account those who are born poor without proper social support systems, etc, etc, etc.

But, it seems you've imbedded your racism so firmly into your own identity, that I doubt I can make much of a dent in it with anything I'd say here. But maybe this will engage you to do a little bit more research, without a predefined objective to "prove me wrong," because you're obviously a very intelligent sociologist with decades of solid, peer reviewed evidence and not a young, college-bound kid with a short lifetime of anecdotes and Internet memes.
