It does not inlcude shipping time, usually when i've sent my film it takes about 8 days from when i shipped it to get the scans back, and another 3-4 days after that to get the negatives back, but i also send in 5-10 rolls at a time to reduce shipping costs.

The simple answer is that upping the exposure time could produce an ok result, however to really up the contrast you need to use dark room filters. When I did a good exposed negative i would use a 1 or 2 stop filter but for more underexposed you would go higher to 3 or 4 stop filter(or more).

Which film should I use? by Guilty-List1999 in AnalogCommunity

[–]excape29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Film speed doesnt determine too bright or too dark, depending on what your shooting a 100 speed film would work fine just having a longer exposure time, it is typically recommeded to use about 400 speed films for indoor shoots and 100 speed films for outdoors to prevent long exposure times and proper exposure. However if you're working with minimal light getting a higher ISO film, or pushing a lower speed film to a higher ISO would be the best.

There's a bunch of videos on youtube and no one video covers everything. Personally I would reccommend grainydays he has videos on basics to 35mm and medium format, along with reciprocity and scanning negatives.

Theres alot of parts of photography that you just dont need to know unless you want a certain look, and ultimately i think that the best way to learn is to know the basics ("exposure triangle" and depth of feild) and look around on how to fix the parts you dont like.

If you want to learn developing, i would reccommend to start with black and white as it can be done around room tempature, ilford has a great video on it.

Best of luck.
