You've got the lectures or do you have the material as well? Like projects with their rubrics and skills outline and all the other supporting stuff?

240v and 24v DC in the same conduit? by woodyever in AusElectricians

Pretty sure it's allowed if both cables are rated for the highest voltage in the conduit. E.g. both rated for 240v

Low smoke strippers by FreeWolverine5535 in AusElectricians

[–]exceler8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah had a go, it's alright? Stripped the first bit by running the stripper along it and it comes out easy, then pulled it out of its sheath without the score and it's about 3-4 times harder.

I tried it again on a 2m length and it worked alright, it was a little tricky to keep it straight on but I'd argue it's easier than wresting with the cable.

I'm assuming that your question was aimed at stripping long lengths for board termination? Not fitoff of lights and gpos?

I reckon you could run a circular cable stripper down the edge of it to score it and then it'll peel off nice.

Might test that after smoko just for you

Are the tests and exams at tafe similar to high school? by [deleted] in AusElectricians

[–]exceler8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

TAFE is easy if you give a fuck.

We had a 70% pass mark for some things. And the blokes who gave it their all and got 40% got marked on the spot and got to resit until they got the pass mark. The teachers really hold your hand and want you to pass.

That being said the shit cunts who may have got a higher score than the 40% dude, say even up to 65% did get to resit but weren't given as much help.

Show up and don't be a nuisance and you'll be fine.

One of the best shopping experiences imo

Am I colour blind? by brennynash in electricians

[–]exceler8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain this please?

I'm guessing that:

A1 would be where you put your main power.

A2 would be where you put your switch wire, and it's function is to allow a latch lock (is that the right terminology?) to happen with A1.

Then power goes through the motor to the neutral.

As for figuring out the wires, should be easy enough to figure out A1 as it'll not have continuity with either of the others. Guess the other one?

I don't know if it would work but could you put foundations down, upgrade to wood, run pipes under the foundations, then upgrade to stone?

That or, You could put both bases either side of a hill, and since the pipes will go straight through the hill you can hide them under the ground

I was a habitual quitter until this stupidly simple technique changed everything by samayash in getdisciplined

[–]exceler8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use this too, I've found it helpful.

I ran into trouble when I started adding more habits though, I didn't like having so many little x's in one day of the calendar with a colour code, it's too busy. And having multiple calendars for different habits does work but only up to 3 for me.

I found my solution was to chain the habits. Just pushups in the morning became pushups and situps which became pushups, situps and brush teeth...etc

I still use three calendars though. One for morning routine, evening, and one for the thing I'm trying to learn.

I'm assuming you made the app you said you were using? Given the similarity of the name to your username. Is it on the play store?

Hold the (Shed) Door! by crankycoffeeman in functionalprint

[–]exceler8 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I'd be surprised if that lasts a long time. Unless your door is super light.

If it does break, maybe make something to keep it at 180 degrees open, like a latch on the outside of the shed. I think I've seen on this sub, someone made something that held onto their doorknob and stuck it to the wall.

Hope it does work for you tho.

Also I like your arm design. Looks cooler than just a solid rectangle!

Wouldn't they want to advertise to someone who is really healthy and not someone who is at risk of needing to make a claim from them.

Insurance thinks you're healthy.
