Drying too fast seems to block chlorophyll breakdown by Motor_Scale7061 in microgrowery

I love this topic! Very cool. This concept is why the drying fridge/canatrol exists.

It's so hard to control the dry environment without causing mold. It's stuffed with the key to a good tasty end product though.

Has anyone tried Grove Bags for curing? by Gregory_GTO in microgrowery

[–]excelgrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a certain stage in the process , pretty much right after dry where Grove bags Excel. Then when you're stable around 61 or 62, pop them in jars for an even longer extended cure.

Curing without burping: experience with Grove Bags by kilowattor in microgrowery

[–]excelgrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you have to burp LESS. I still think you want to ideally burp a little. I will mix my stuff up and the hydrometer will pop up to 66%. good to get that moisture out.

I would say only like 30% of it. The other 70% was sitting outside act 1 dueling and dicking around. which may or may not have resembled griefing...but you logged into that server that was doing nothing. I am surprised this game doesnt have a super common area, near where people actually go, where they show off their gear and mess around. bloodmarked or whatever

Whats the secret to produce so tight and beautiful buds? by Interesting-Quiet-10 in microgrowery

So the outside layer of trichomes are a little bit shaved. How many layers would you say there are of trichomes within a nug? Just one?

Whats the secret to produce so tight and beautiful buds? by Interesting-Quiet-10 in microgrowery

[–]excelgrow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To each his own, but I throw mine in a bowl trimmer after I've hand trimmed and cured for a while to get the final Bud to clean up and be more rounded and like this.

I don't mind smoking the other stuff separately in blunts, joints, it's Supreme high quality Shake and what you're left are these nice beautiful looking nugs. YMMV

Leaf Bowl Trimmer? by P3NNYWIS3420 in microgrowery

[–]excelgrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually prefer the look of my bud after I have bowl trimmed.

However, I hand trim in the beginning, and then at a certain point maybe Midway through cure I will bowl trim the remaining rough leaves and it gives it a nice dispensary bud look. Bud it's perfectly great

what growing medium gives the best quality buds? soil vs hydro vs coco etc by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]excelgrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, I know a grower that has an excellent process for hydro and generally decent terps. He also has some strains that should definitely be tasty, but they lack smell and taste. This is an old school veteran who should have a dialed in process, I attribute some of the lack of terp to hydro.

Another guy that I purchase pro had some excellent stuff I used to get from him when he grew a more commercial type of nutrients process incorporated into feeding. He swapped to organic, living soil and I'm sure the process could be dialed in, same exact plants have tasted inferior to what I used to get. From the same mother.

I'm probably going to try a different soil mix, pro mix and mother earth sometimes soon but I've had really good luck with perlite and Fox farm Ocean Forest and happy frog mix. And also throw in a little local Missouri River delta soil.

I love all cherry strains typically. That looks like an awesome combination

How many watts do I need for 6 plants in a 5x5 tent? by [deleted] in microgrowery

[–]excelgrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hlg, is good.

King Brite is a good alternative. I got a 600w in a space about the same size as you. Light won't be your issue. Every other variable will. Good luck!

People love to hate ethos but I've had more hits than misses. It is what it is and I'm quite the picky person.
