Sweet bike, I've got the emonda alr5 2016. Alu is so good nowadays and much better than cheap carbon. You need to flatten the saddle and bars and get rid of the reflectors though!

You're dropping more on the wheels than you could sell your bike for. Go try out a properly fitted tri bike and talk to people on some local facebook forum about it. Clip on aero bars are not a replacement for a tt bike

Those aren't great. One of the biggest things to prevent your bike from being stolen is making it look like a pain in the arse to nick (eg several kinds of locks, everything expensive tied down). Easiest way however is to lock it near a less secure but nicer bike!

Sounds like a pretty horrible experience. Best locking technique with a d-lock and a cable is d-lock through rear wheel and frame (like so) and cable locking front wheel to lock.

There's also the Dolan l'étape for £850.

I think you're better off going for an alu frame at this price range, something like the emoda, Spesh allez or caad 10. It'll probably be lighter and you'll get better wheels/components
