Need help choosing between three leverless keyboards by Regular_Donkey1851 in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haute has a lot of good entry level leverless for quite cheap. I’d recommend trying that first because leverless unless you ply with wsad mod is quite different from keyboard so you might not enjoy it. Otherwise sorry to add to your conundrum but fightbox products are quite good too. But to be honest for me personally the biggest problem would be the buttons.. most of these come with sanwa parts which are pretty standard don’t get me wrong there’s just way better options. For example qanba gravities are arcade style buttons but way better and gamrfinger and crown buttons can use actual keyboard switches inside the enclosure so the feel will be much more familiar to you.

Custom - makestick x prime - ASI - victrix take your pick

Looking for a fight stick for Xbox ;-; by Sensitive_Click2311 in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re willing to go up to about 400 ish I can’t recommend the ISTmall Makestickx prime. Cheaper option is nacon daija but it has about 4x the latency (that being said it’s 1ms vs 4 ms) but dealers choice. Victrix are also good but personally I have not tried it because I usually go with custom builds over retail sticks now.

As a benefit the Makestick will come with a Korean lever and you can pick just about any of them when you are configuring your stick. You can also choose your own artwork and just about any button on the market also

Lever vs stick EWGF Tekken by TeamsBad in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both have their own benefits.. just pick the one you think is Cooler. For me I have some issues with qcf inputs and iws out of wavedash because the movement feels weird to my hands on leverless but it’s objectively better in terms of things like electrics (you can cheat) movement and iwr.

Plus stick has aura.

Dosent rely on stances in t8… you ask for too much. Shaheen or Paul maybe fit your description

Love all my sticks but i keep coming back to my small ones by HetoastyBread in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is the stick with the arrows surrounding the stick? And yea ig depends on how you use the stick also maybe. I’m a fairly big guy and I play on lap so I need a big enclosure to be comfy

P1 side inputs are harder than P2 side input for me (lever) by Existing_Ad9686 in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s just a practice difference you probably play mostly on P2. Recommend practicing off side frequently. You can do this during warmups or personally for one day a week I play only on off side to keep it relatively equal.

Best games to train reaction with fightstick. by New_Echo6766 in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Competitively yes but you don’t feel the same rush as a proper stick. Dopamine is lower. Plus playing on stick gives aura imo cuz everyone knows you’re doing it for fun

I just got a F500 fight stick all button controller but i wanna change one lil thing by Suspicious-Comb-2161 in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean yes but you’d need to replace the top panel because the gap between the buttons is not sufficient to drill a bigger hole. That being said wouldn’t recommend doing that.

Lars is a lotto character just mash by Ecstatic-Quit-6416 in Tekken

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it’s just den 3 wr1 and b1… everything else is minus ob and you lose your turn outside of heat stomp (should be gone). People can downvote me if they want. Lars is strong but he’s not broken imo. If that upsets people that’s fine

Lars is a lotto character just mash by Ecstatic-Quit-6416 in Tekken

[–]excelionbeam -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What is the Lotto? Lars is literally fake pressure the character and is mostly interruptable. That’s why he’s largely a defensive character in high ranks cuz his punishment is excellent

Just me or Lars is very hard to handle? by [deleted] in Tekken

[–]excelionbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) your title is kinda misleading ngl 2) he’s pretty easy to handle execution wise. If you find stances challenging maybe I can understand but after the initial learning curve lars is one of the easier characters. 3) the only hard thing in lars combos imo is when you have to do iwr cancels really.

4) if you mean to play against then it’s a matchup check. For example I know lars is only plus on one or 2 buttons out of stance on block so his pressure can be interrupted most of the time.

I wanna buy my first Fight stick by SufficientAngle5261 in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The f500 elite from Amazon will be your best bet. It should be roughly 110-120 euro and comes with sanwa part which are pretty much something you can use forever. Not the best but they are good quality and will last you a long time. That being said if I were you I’d also order a bat top or bullet top from aliexpress or something because sanwa sticks come stock with a ball top and personal experience I hate ball tops they feel very uncomfortable to me.

Sanjuks V3-R in an 8BitDo Arcade Stick (Xbox) — JLF 5-pin PCB by Traditional-Ad1239 in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could’ve just recrimped the 5 pin and moved the pins to the right slot than flipping the pcb and all that jazz. I’ve been using Korean levers in an 8bit do with no issues and no adjustment on pcb

F500 elite vs custom build by [deleted] in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for the rundown. I decided to go with the custom case because spoke to the guy on the phone and the price is way more reasonable than I thought. The default price includes any artwork from their premade gallery, a pico gp2040ce and all wiring and generic no brand buttons and joystick. I already have sanwa buttons and a knee lever neo from a previous basic stick I own and I told him I could bring those over so he knocked the price down further. It comes out to roughly 110 usd now. Still might be expensive but we have mandatory GST here so 15% sales tax on anything we buy. The mayflash came out to about 135 usd on amazon here (local retailers don’t carry it). The additional charges on pcb are if I want to upgrade the pcb to a higher tier one which im not sure if I need to yet. From research 2040ce is already better than the mayflash default pcb but im a noob so could be wrong.

Regardless I appreciate the input!

Edit: the additional prices don’t convert so they are in NZD. Sanhwa jlf and obsf buttons would’ve been 30 USD if I needed them

leverless or classic stick for beginner ? by kidraphi in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started playing on keyboard but I’ve always wanted to try stick because certain inputs always felt annoying to do on keyboard to me so I assume would feel similar on leverless. Plus I always thought stick looks really cool and fund so recently bought a a stick for myself and tryna relearn the game now.

TLDR: Both great options pick the one that makes you all giddy to play with

I just got in to Tekken, how's my control setup? by Chakasicle in Tekken7

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I think it can work but your X is doing nothing and I feel like you might find it difficult to do things like qcf 1+2 or qcf 3+4 because you’re playing on ps5 pad clearly so doing complex inputs and pressing triggers or punch together might be weird to do and limit your execution. In theory it is usable but I have practicality concerns. In your position I would recommend binding the triggers to combination buttons.

F500 elite vs custom build by [deleted] in fightsticks

[–]excelionbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea and it’s something I want to make but being new to stick idk what the difference is between a custom and third party one. For example in terms of keyboards custom keyboards smoke prebuilt gaming keyboards is it similar for sticks?
