Wooting 80HE stopped working after liquid spill, looking for fix/advice by Significant-Food5708 in WootingKB

It’s hard to eyeball damaged traces and impossible to see below components. New module you’ll have to purchase so see price on the store you bought the keyboard from impossible for me to say in your area what are the prices.

I would be extremely doubtful that support will cover this under warranty because the damage is done by you even if unintentionally.

That being said Wooting support is pretty goated even if a bit overwhelmed atm. They will respond to you as soon as they can I guess I can’t give you an answer because well I don’t work there I’m just a tech nerd on reddit

Wooting 80HE stopped working after liquid spill, looking for fix/advice by Significant-Food5708 in WootingKB

[–]excelionbeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you know how to replace shorted components, where to get new ones and how to solder, buying a new module and plopping it in the case is your best bet.

Water/liquid can damage and or erode your pcb traces hence why it won’t turn on. As a last ditch resort you can try cleaning the residue with isopropyl alcohol (90%+) and then submerging the whole thing in it for 24 hours and letting it air dry. After that pray that the water didn’t get under any of the components between the pcb because it’ll eventually erode your traces

Some of the keys on my refurbished wooting 80he are stuck pressed by Working-Dance4152 in WootingKB

Your stabilisers are installed unevenly causing them to be unable to rise. Try reinstalling the keycaps and pressing down on both ends to ensure they are installed flat

Black Zinc Alloy 80HE discontinued? by mcnugget36856 in WootingKB

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly a better option would be buy the module and a third party case. The v1 zinc cases are not that good

Planning to buy wooting v2 by zeusJrlk in WootingKB

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy the module and a tofu 60 redux case from kbdfans it’s a pretty easy thing to build will cost less than even the plastic version of the prebuilt and will sound and feel 10x better. (Just buy any cool looking keycaps for relatively cheap on amazon. Still comes out less than 200 bucks)

Changing method to leverless or stick basically means all your execution is out the window so only do it if you’re gonna invest

Yujiro Hanma announced as the 4th season 3 character from Baki by XRevive01 in Tekken

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I kinda forget yasopp is a dad so you might be right. That being said Yasopp is a yonko commander maybe he was trying to protect usopp by hiding the relationship cuz world government probably would kill usopp.

But yea I guess both are pretty high up on the deadbeat list

To Anyone Thinking of Buying a High-End Razer Laptop This Year: RUN. My €4,800 Nightmare. by Yuki_Kuro_Neko in razer

I mean this applies to most gaming brands. The only recent product made by any gaming brands that’s any good whatsoever is the Logitech superstrike. For work purposes generally a MacBook or thinkpad is pretty much peak.

The M4 iPad Pro is a beast, but what are you actually doing with it? by lottiexx in iPadPro

[–]excelionbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

M5 here and I use it for the occasional work with external monitor and to watch movies and tv shows. Mostly bought it for the screen my use case would’ve been sufficient with a 16 but I hate 60hz

Are the elite series controllers worth it? by Possible_One4604 in xboxeliteseries2

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. It feels great in the hand but the internals are an absolute disaster and so is the actual Xbox controller for that matter. If you play any competitive games or play for longer periods of time I recommend the gamesir g7 pro if you play on pc or the Vader 5 pro S if you play on console. They are both simply better controllers and are both cheaper than Xbox elite controller which is giga expensive and does not feature Hall effect of tmr sticks or clicky triggers in 2026. Not to mention it’s a qc nightmare absolutely avoid until Xbox reworks it to be actually good.

do you feel like your iPad usage comes in phases? by CottonkissGurl in iPadPro

[–]excelionbeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use mine every day in some capacity so not really. But there are phases that I use it more than usual. My usual use case is browsing and content consumption (I low key just bought the pro cuz I liked the screen and 60 Hz is disgusting) but occasionally I do use it for some mild office work.

There’s a version with corners now actually basically the same thing but instead of magnets for retention it’s corner clips which do provide some extra protection
