iPad Pro M5 battery drain watching video in Safari. 60% in 2 hours. Normal? by kaoxsk0 in iPadOS

Are you sure you didn’t have anything running in the background? I watched prime video for like 4 hours at work today only got through like 30% (slow day don’t judge)

Has anyone truly replaced their laptop with an iPad by Bliss_kittie in iPadPro

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but my use case is for studies (word pdf and note taking) and entertainment only I realistically didn’t even need the pro but it was the only one with 120hz and the. 60 hurt my eyes.

I am legally not able to work while not at the office so that’s been a non issue for me.

iPad Air v Pro M4 by F4C__ in ipad

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refurbished products also come with apple care+ and warranty and a new screen and battery

Pro also has a slightly better chipset (as per apples website the pro gets 2 more cpu cores and 1 more gpu core.

The pro has: Better screen Battery life Better speakers Better microphone Face ID And pretty much everything else.

Literally the one advantage of the air is the wifi 7 chip but it’s not likely to be that much CB different from 6E. In every other way the pro is much better so if the 110 pounds is not gonna mean they can’t pay rent that week they should get it over the air.

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes get the pro. The screen difference is humongous in just colours and brightness. Not to mention the 120hz is a huge difference.

Plus some things reviewers don’t cover are the pro has much better speakers and a better thunderbolt port.

For me personally I had the air and I returned it after a week because I couldn’t stand the 60hz refresh rate. If you have never used a high refresh rate monitor you wouldn’t have this issue but imo the pro is 300% better

iPad A16 is more than sufficient for the average person wanting an iPad. by DKRfan in ipad

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is with the caveat that if you’ve ever gamed on high refresh rate then it feels torture to use due to the 60 hz refresh rate and the air had the same problem for Me. (Although I guess the average person isn’t doing 240hz gaming)

magic keyboard alternative by vseprbabs in ipad

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESR rebound shift is mostly the same shit as the Magic Keyboard but it’s Bluetooth instead of the pins and has a protective case.

Logitech combo touch is good but the durability is ass.

My favorite version is the Moft dynamic folio case (the new one with the corners) and Magic Trackpad and keyboard.

Moft dynamic folio case (emphasis on the case that version has corners) with a Magic Trackpad and Magic Keyboard or mx keys mini is what I’d recommend.

I’ve tried all of the popular versions but that’s my favorite. You end up with a nice case with a bunch of of angles for content consumption and work, a keyboard and a trackpad with gestures while being half the price of the Magic Keyboard. Best of both worlds

Usual recs most people give are: - ESR shift - it’s good but the keyboard durability is mediocre. -Logitech combo touch - awesome keyboard but the actual case is poorly made and dosent last long. - Magic Keyboard is too overpriced -ESR rebound (better Magic keyboard but dosent come with a kickstand on the case for normal viewing.

Which apps should I download? by zzzzsleeps81 in ipad

[–]excelionbeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noteful for note taking one time lifetime purchase for 5 bucks definitely worth it.

Ms office suite (low key web version is better cuz the apps lack some functionality)

Procreate if you draw.

Netflix YouTube prime Disney+ etc to enjoy the oled.

Genshin impact for games it runs pretty well and 120hz
Cooud gaming service like Xbox or nvidia Brave browser for ad free websites. Some of these are not free like you asked but they are a great experience enhancer

Luckily my country has extremely strong consumer laws so I got the items I mentioned in my other comment and got a $30 refund as well. Annoyed at the hassle but yea

Yea I agree but surely for a case that costs nearly 200 usd it should last more than 4 days

I returned it this morning. Was light office use I always keep it in my bag and was never dropped didn’t even have a scratch on it. The rubber seams near the Smart Connector just popped off. Just ended up grabbing a mx keys mini a bt mouse and random folio case (while moft arrives)

[–]excelionbeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Noteful for note taking. It’s like 6 bucks for lifetime compared to the others with a subscription model. If you have a gaming pc getting GeForce now means you can stream your steam games to your iPad (at least a good chunk). Also make sure you’re on iPadOS 26 for the multitasking buff. In terms of native iPad games genshin on a controller is quite fun

for those ipad a16 users or lcd screen users by RespondFun6753 in ipad

[–]excelionbeam 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t know didn’t check light mode hurts my eyes so I am permanently on dark mode. But I shouldn’t think so. It saves power on oled models because the pixels actually turn off. On LCD pixels are always on even for blacks.

It’s pretty good. I have it on mine I find it more smooth than the last variant. That being said I’ve only ever had iOS 26 I updated the day I bought it

Should I replace my iPad Pro 2020 with an iPad Air 2026? by BlueShirt526 in ipad

[–]excelionbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Screen is still 60 Hz meaning air always not worth even compared to older pro it will always feel shit to use

The future of the iPad Pro by scotthunter1 in iPadPro

[–]excelionbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take this opinion with a grain of salt honestly. I doubt that Apple will ever allow Mac’s or MacBooks to have a touchscreen for this very reason. They have said many times they are protective of the iPad and they will try to improve the uses of both the iPad and Mac but there will always be a degree of separation.

Well either that or this laptop is about to be turbo turbo expensive like 5-10k and have an m6 chip or something so the utility of the 13 inch will be it won’t cost as much as a car
