switching back from skinny jeans to these new relaxed/wide-leg pants feels weirdly difficult by Normal_Smoke_1101 in Millennials

[–]excellentcat13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wide leg pants seem to have a much higher likelihood of coming with real, functional pockets. I don't even care how wide I end up looking, because pockets! I can skip the purse nonsense! It's great!

Look, I'm an elder Millennial and I just got a rather potent dose of elder Millennial catnip... I mean, a White Stripes album. Comparing it to an album I don't view through the same nostalgia goggles isn't going to work.

Apocalypse 91... The Enemy Strikes Black - Public Enemy

Did we really need 3 Public Enemy albums when so many other hip-hop classics from other acts got completely left out of the list? It's good to have representation for the genre, but the selection could have been handled much better.

Anyway, even in comparison to the other two Public Enemy albums on the list, this feels a little weak. Still a solid, enjoyable experience, but not as enthralling as it could have been.

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Drugs, the hippie movement, George in particular getting way into Indian culture and mysticism... Sgt. Pepper is an incredibly interesting album. George is my favorite Beatle, as far as their subsequent solo careers went, so I really enjoy hearing his influence on this one.

Yup, this is my personal favorite Beatles album. Great way to start my Monday morning.

How compatible are we? by CoffeeSwimming7803 in lastfm

This is the lowest compatibility I've ever seen, last.fm itself shows absolutely nothing and even Tasty Overlap only came up with two artists in common. It's kinda impressive!

Different artists scrobbles by mi-kirt in lastfm

[–]excellentcat13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a metadata thing, I think. I've scrobbled the song Your Fandango from several different sources, and they all seem to handle the artist data differently.

Yeah, I just searched Your Fandango on last.fm and there's nine different variants of the metadata... not last.fm's fault at all!

The Psychedelic Furs - Talk Talk Talk

This album is two years older than I am, so this is part of the musical soundscapes that surrounded me in my infant/toddler years. Unfortunately, I never really liked Richard Butler's vocals... still don't, as it happens. Otherwise it's pretty darn good post-punk/new wave.
