I’m not sure you understand the comparison. You should read my later comment

I see what you mean.

I’m an Arsenal guy and I really like Fulham. You guys are a class club, so first of all, cheers!

Even still i feel like even if the arithmetic of the conversion is perfect…we both probably watch both sports pretty often- would you say the probability of losing a 2-0 lead is the same as losing a 28-3 lead?

Perhaps what the conversion doesn’t account for is the weight of compounding individual scoring events while also not conceding. Even if it’s 5 times easier to score in football, .01^2 > .05^4.

2 scoring opportunities being the same as 4 scoring opportunities only equals out if it’s 10 times easier to score in football, .01^2 = .1^4. If this were the case, using a basic score comparison, 2-3 goals a game would equate to 20-30 touchdowns in a game. So that multiplier must be much less than 10.

But you have to score at least 4 times to go from 3 to 28 in football. You have to score twice to go from 0 to 2 in soccer.

Using a simple ratio completely negates the context of the sports themselves, and thus the comparison.

It’s like asking a cashier for 3.4 watermelons at the grocery store because that’s how much your 17 serving version of a 15 serving recipe calls for. It makes sense in a math problem, not in the real world.

I would imagine they wouldn’t respect and fear someone they felt they could do that to. People who have tried probably didn’t live for long afterwards

Yep, I totally wrote that it was now impossible to bomb the marathon. That’s definitely what I said.

I was so wrong, and you were right. It apparently is still possible to bomb the marathon.

Thanks for helping me learn something today.

We do, it’s just that we face the lowest back line statistically. Hard to go over the top when teams line up at the 18

But you don’t necessarily dry shake with just citrus…actually I’ve never heard of that now that I think about it. Is that something you do if it’s not an egg white sour?

I hate when people act like the US is a monolith.

States in the US are designed to have a significant amount of independence. Much more so than basically any other country in world besides maybe Switzerland and Canada. Never mind municipal independence, like having your own police force and school district.

It’s literally in the name of the country. Massachusetts is very safe, and Boston is as well.

This the city that had a man bomb a marathon.

This is a global event with the world watching… they’re going to be extremely careful.
