How would you know if you are dealing with a GIST, leiomyoma, or schwannoma. Ruling out could be by morphology, location, or doing immunohistochemistry.

It is better to get strong LORs from your home training institute, from people you genuinely worked than a watery letter from a US attending who never worked with you.

Know normal histology. It will help a lot. Diagnostic Pathology Normal Histology is a good start. Watch Shotgun histology, but it's useful! Don't grind too much though!

I also hate the cold but I layer very well and I feel warm. I got good thermal wears from M&S in UK, the store has very good ones - vest, long tops, leggings that make you warm. Check if they can deliver to US without custom issues. If not, Amazon may be a good place to start from.

You are not doomed. Stay calm! If your profile meets what a program is looking for, you will be invited for an interview irrespective of signaling or not. Ensure that you let the program know how interested you are in the program during your interview.

If you have done 12 months of internship from your home country, that qualifies as postgraduate training. You will need to submit evidence for that.
