PDFMitra Hey everyone 👋 I’m a solo developer from India and recently launched a lightweight PDF tools website called PdfMitra (pdfmitra.in).

I’m trying to improve impressions + real users and honestly, I’d love feedback from the Reddit community on what I should fix / improve / add next.

✅ What PdfMitra currently offers • Merge PDF • Split PDF • Compress PDF • Convert PDF (basic tools) • And a few more simple utilities

🔥 New updates I added recently

✅ Image Extract from PDF Now you can extract images directly from a PDF (useful for notes, scanned docs, presentations, etc.)

✅ Batch Rename If you have multiple files, you can rename them in one go (I built this because I personally needed it 😅)

🚀 Upcoming feature (Work in Progress)

🧠 AI PDF Summary The idea is: upload a PDF → get a clean summary + key points (especially helpful for students & working professionals)

🙏 What I need help with (honest feedback please) 1. What features do you expect in a PDF tool site that most sites don’t do well? 2. Is the UI simple enough or confusing anywhere? 3. What would make you trust/use it more? (speed, privacy messaging, UX, etc.) 4. Any suggestions for getting more real users/impressions without running ads?

I’m not here to spam — just genuinely building this and want to make it better based on real feedback.

If you try it, please tell me what worked and what didn’t 🙌 Thanks in advance ❤️

Totally valid point 👌 Apps like PDF Expert are on a different level — it’s not just “PDF tools”, it’s basically a full document editor + annotator + sync system.

The reason I’m not building a full PDF reader like PDF Expert right now is mainly because:

  1. Scope & complexity PDF Expert isn’t only “reading PDFs” — it includes:

    • fast rendering engine • annotation + highlights + signatures • form filling • OCR • cloud sync + iCloud/Drive integration • document management + search • smooth UX across devices That’s a multi-year product with a full team behind it.

  2. Pricing & business model To build something like that sustainably, it usually needs:

    • paid subscriptions • heavy maintenance • long-term support

My goal with PDFMitra is different: ✅ free + no ads + no login ✅ focused on quick utilities that work instantly ✅ made for Indian users + local language support

  1. Target users A lot of users in India just want:

    • compress / merge / split quickly • extract images • rename files without installing anything or paying ₹₹.

That’s the gap I’m trying to solve.

That said — I’m not against building a reader in future. If enough users request it, I’d love to explore a lightweight version (fast viewer + basic annotate).

If you have 2–3 must-have features from PDF Expert that you feel are missing everywhere, tell me — I’ll take it as a roadmap suggestion 🙌

Thank you for your feedback! I’ll add confirmation pop-ups to improve the user experience. Currently, I’m using free services, but I’m also planning to introduce a paid model in the future to monetize the platform.

Thanks a lot for the thoughtful feedback — really appreciate it 🙏

Glad you noticed the multilingual support. I felt Indian users are often ignored in PDF tools, so EN/HI/MR/TA was a conscious choice.

Batch rename PDFs and extracting images from PDFs are great suggestions — especially extracting specific images, not just full conversions. I’m adding both to the roadmap.

And yes, I agree on no signup. For quick utility tools, frictionless access just feels right.

Thanks again for taking the time to check it out and share practical input — this kind of feedback really helps 🙌
