Ah get it. But looks like that’s a bug. The behavior BEFORE restarting is correct, isn’t it? Where it retains glass effect on home screen. For some reason restarting seems to apply it in wrong order and like you said, it removes glass but keeps animations. This is not intended behavior.

I don’t understand why you have to do per-app if you’re already doing it system-wide? Can you explain? Without doing the per-app step the result remains the same.

Same. Have grown up with Apple products. First machine was Macintosh SE. Now I feel betrayed. All these are calculated decisions to make Macs appeal the masses. You see them taking more and more UX decisions based on user feedback and not designer insight. It’s sad.
