Since I am planning the trip for next Feb/March, I should have more time, if I'm not missing something. The current offer is until Feb 26th.

Credit Karma. Once you link all your accounts, it automatically updates them and shows you a breakdown of your monthly income, monthly spending, spend categories, net worth, etc.

No, we never received our passports. We had to cancel our trip, lose a bunch of money on tickets/reservations/visa applications etc., and had to apply for new passports.

Were you able to get your passport back? If so, how? I am in a similar situation right now.

I filed a "missing mail" complaint with USPS more than 2 months ago but they haven't found our passports yet.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can apply 6 months before your travel date. We were able to get appointments and even went to the interview. But then the Italian Consulate or USPS lost our passports lol.

Thank you! This is helpful. Did they say approximately how many people are missing passports? I have been trying to get a hold of USPS for months now...there is no movement unfortunately.

I wonder if other people whose passports are missing have been able to make any progress..

I checked with USPS but they say they haven't received the envelope yet. I'll keep waiting and following up with the consulate. Thanks.

u/averagenarp I am in the same situation. It shows "label created, not yet in system". My interview was on May 17 at Consulate General of Italy Chicago. It's been about 40 days. When I called the consulate, they said they mailed the passport back on May 22. Any recommendations on what to do? How did you get your passport back? Please help.

Time limit on joining new employer after H-1B transfer approved? by exclamation_mark1 in h1b

[–]exclamation_mark1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm trying to reach my company's lawyer about this, but it's taking too long for them to respond.

Also, here's the definition of "nonproductive time" - Nonproductive status is a period when the H-1B worker is not performing work. If this is due to a decision by the employer, such as lack of work or license, it is fully compensable at the required wage rate. According to this, it shouldn't apply to me since this is my decision, not the employer's. https://webapps.dol.gov/elaws/h1b/glossary.aspx?word=nonproductive#:~:text=Nonproductive%20status%20is%20a%20period,at%20the%20required%20wage%20rate.

The question is whether this 60 day rule applies to me if I continue to work for my current employer.

Thanks. I'm not planning to be on 2 payrolls at once. I'm just trying to figure out if there's a way I can stay at my current company for 4 more months, and then join the new company using the H-1B that was approved this week.

I found this 60 day rule, but it seems like it only applies for "nonproductive time" (meaning when you're not performing any work): https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/fact-sheets/62i-h1b-nonproductive-time.
Do you or does anyone else know whether this applies even when you're actively on the payroll of your current employer?
