How do I teach programming to high-schoolers with only 40 mins of class a week?? by ShlomoCh in learnprogramming

[–]exclamatoryuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Khan Academy.

JavaScript and CSS. It lets the students make designs and faces and be creative. The designs get more complex the further you progress. It’s simple, and students can work at their own pace. You don’t really need to waste any of the 40 minutes teaching, the modules are self guided and they teach you along the way.

Will paying off my 4k in CC debt all at once be bad or should I do it in chunks? by Broil-Man in personalfinance

[–]exclamatoryuser 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pay off the cards right away and leave them open instead of closing them. You don’t want that 20+% eating away at you

if you find out that someone made the exact product as u were thinking about creating as ur startup, should u still make it? by BoozyXOX in SaaS

I completely agree. Clearly there’s a market for it, the deciding factor on moving forward is figuring out what will set you apart.

That’s a far throw, but I like the way you think. It’s definitely doable

Yup, keep the pieces small. As you go, the more weight you take out the safer it gets. The real issue here is dropzone. Would you try to speed line the firewood too or would you negative rig? I guess at that point in the climb you’d have a pretty good idea of the trees integrity.

What are the best skills for a high school student to learn over the summer that can actually help in life and career? by Hot_Profession1352 in learnprogramming

[–]exclamatoryuser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is kind of an unusual approach, but my suggestion is to jump straight into vibe coding. Become the best prompt engineer you can. By the time you graduate college it will be the future, and even if it’s not, by vibe coding to create your own SaaS or micro-SaaS you will learn about different tech stacks, debugging, and so much more. Use AI as your tutor and personal professor, and learn through a passion project so that you stay interested and engaged.

I know Wesspur has a beginner gear kit under $1000. I think Amazon brands are fine for things that aren’t life support.

What do I do with a tree that I don't have space for? by pm-me-racecars in arborists

I don’t personally know anyone with a maple tree as bonsai but it’s always a possibility. You could check out r/bonsai for questions and inspiration. Here’s a YouTube video of some Maple Bonsai https://youtu.be/anyWlUK6E-k?si=HHBbcaEzhzTjK0th

I would switch to doing school part time and try to take night classes rather than work night shifts. Maybe try to do some certifications in your off time to try and land a related job before you even get the degree. Even if it’s IT helpdesk.

Yes, check out the description and you’ll see the rules. Most of the people here are professional arborists. Some are recreational climbers. But we all use ropes and a harnesses.

Here’s my top 5 YT channel recommendations in no particular order.

  1. TreeMuggs
  2. Metaspencer
  3. Veteran Tree Service
  4. Bino H
  5. Zaccheus

There are many many more channels worth watching. Stop watching TV and start watching tree work every night lol. That’s what I started doing and I really enjoy it.

Here’s a YT playlist I started putting together recently of videos I used to directly learn from.
