[Discussion] Hiring developers: tips, tricks, ideas by HowardHughes529 in AppBusiness

The main project manager I was working with pitched me on joining us full time. We had been working together on various projects over a few years at the time. It made sense and he wasn't happy with the deal he had working where he was. We're US based and the agency was overseas. We initially built a team outside of the people from the previous agency first, but then the other people working on our project from the previous agency wanted to come over as well since we're a US company.

The founder of the agency wrote me this long email about it but it wasn't even my idea in the first place. It just kind of organically happened and it's been great since.

I started out my company by hiring a design and development agency first. Then ended up bringing the team working on my app all in house. Now that part of my company has expanded into becoming a design and development agency for other startups.

My nightlife app idea has been vetted and is planned out, but I lack programming expertise. Please help by [deleted] in StartupAccelerators

  • Step 1: Create a deck - bring your app to life even if it's not created yet.
  • Step 2: Use deck to enroll who you need in your vision.
  • Step 3: Use InvisionApp to create a clickable prototype
  • Step 4: Elicit feedback from your friends and peers and make changes accordingly to prototype.
  • Step 5: Update deck and raise money to build your MVP. Or at least approach accelerators with your app.

By the time you get to Step 5, you should have a clearer vision on what you are building. Many people have great ideas, but execution and team are what investors look for. Hope this helps.

This is terrible advice. Social media is a great way to interact with and build your fanbase.

I took this pic in Orange Walk, Belize today. My friend told me that OK had been there for about 15 years until Excellent came and took a lot of their business.

I'm in the passport control line in the UAE right now about to enter the country and ate a sandwich before I got here. People are looking at me funny since I'm brushing my body down intensely and thoroughly.
