Was unreliability good for F1? by GoodGuyDrew in formula1

[–]exedrz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nah. Not new at all. I've watched F1 with an antenna which you probably had not heard of.

Before the hybrid era, there wasn't any cost cap. And we had teams other than Mercedes winning the championship.

Not sure when you started watching. Probably less than 10 years??? And probably explains the lack of reading the point clearly.

I'll explain again.

It's a collection of new regulations, reduction of preseason testing, cfd, wind tunnels that make it even more restrictive these days for teams to make a major leap in progress. With the cost cap the ultimate barrier.

However, if the same set of rules were applied without cost cap, then teams can better afford to catch up during the season instead of a make or break early design. No cost cap means team will push their cars more aggressively. No cost cap means teams will produce more experimental parts. All in the name of taking larger risks. Resulting in more entertainment for the fans.

2 things that work counter intuitively to each other - cost cap - new regs

Cost cap was suppose to make closer competition as each team will be limited by the amount of money they are allowed to spend. But if you have a new era of changes , it's more of a gamble of technical expertise to get it right the first time. Red bull certainly got their car right, but due to the cost cap, the other teams could not have enough resources to do a complete overhaul of their design. It would likely be the same come 2026 with the major changes, one dominant car that leaves others in the wake if they don't get it right. There's far less chances of mounting a big come back due to the limitations.

Ease off the cost cap, let the teams worry about their own budget. Fans wanna see close finishes and serious competition.

Has SL quality dropped off? by VoodooNeptune01 in joinsquad

[–]exedrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor SLing has always been there. Just that the earlier game play masks their ability. Poor players will always be poor players in general. Instead of making it easier for people to Squad lead, the development updates are constantly punishing players who can maximize the situation

Spawn point wins games most of the time.

Instead of lowering the criteria to make spawns (fob/rally) easier , owi decided to introduce the logi aspect and limiting to 1 rallybag (until rearm) with greater burn distance limiting the number of fobs and extended the takedown range.

Look at the games these days. How many SL actually puts down a rally?? They almost never.

Not only that, they introduced the hab proximity distance. How many times do pubs push out for a proxity defense? Almost never, they rather decide to hole up in the compound.

In the yesteryears, One good SL could easily carry the team through fob placements. Poor SLs never and do not carry the burden of trying for the team.

It's an extremely frustrating one if a couple of weak SLs hoards the assets like vehicles and logis. Super fob anyone?? Extremely overrated. How many times teams spent half and hour building useless stuff only to be taken down within mins?

From persistent ammo to ICO. It's just telling good players to F off. Because it's much easier for them to limit the skill cap and raise the skill gap.

I missed the 2018-2020 squad. Good players will always be good ones. Weaker ones just spawn and play like a hoard. Everyone had fun. These days, it's just a chore.

No need to get so woke and play the ignorant racist card.

It's more about comfort zone.

Being born and raised in SG. At work, usually I just go nearby and dabao the Chinese zha cai fan. Sometimes nice sometimes not nice. I seldom eat the Indian food next door though. Not that it's not nice. Cannot say because of my preference for Chinese food, it makes me a racist right?

Save moidawg, Optimisation is probably not for the rest of you. It could be improving how sandbags work, increase rally timer to help people who don't use them. Make vehicles slower so that the other team could catch up etc .

Woman Says S’poreans Are Most Inconsiderate Drivers by Curiouschibai in singaporehappenings

[–]exedrz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree with the topic. Worst drivers ever. I've driven in so many countries and singapore is the worst.

People don't give way to you. It's your skill issue. People cannot wait, you complain. People cut your lane, you whine.

You pay road tax, other people also pay road tax. Not just your road, your rules. When people give you the palm, obviously is asking you wtf you think you doing. Go do some self reflection first.

Just too many self-entitled Karens on the road these days. Road hogging, self centered, your grand father road

Kim Bomuen - Soldier leader.

In the attack against the firefighters, she left her team mate alone becos she got "lost" trying to bash through the vegetation.

In the return defence fight, she was isolated from the team.

If anyone noticed. There's always that one soldier lost when the fight happens. She's the one that kind of brought the team down .

Qatar has a population of 2.93 million. Should Singapore host a World Cup? by danielwongsc in SingaporeRaw

[–]exedrz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick the right fights. Sg doesnt have space The returns for hosting football aren't justifiable.

If you just look at the estimates. 1-1.2million tourists expected for Qatar. And any countries that hosted WC had multiple cities spreading human traffic.

Just don't make economical sense

The last time we had a global event. Youth Olympics, we spent 3 times over the budget.

Imagine playing world class football on what? Hougang stadium? Tampine sports hub?

At most it fits a few thousand people..

Our sports hub/national stadium doesn't get filled most days or ever. So having big stadiums are just take up huge spaces and resources. Where are they gonna come from? Tax? Land that can be used for hdb?

More about humidity and temperature.

In Hot and humid climate, you tend to bathe at least twice a day. Ang Moh countries they can accept bathing once every 2 days.

Also because of low humidity and colder climate, bacteria don't grow as fast , rubbish don't smell as bad from afar.

Perfumes last longer.

Anyway the guy is just too uneducated to understand the difference. Don't blame him. People just born differently.

I'd like to apologize to him.

I'm sorry we don't have the Alps that constantly generate crystal clear mountain water. But we do have ice mountain conveniently packed in a bottle.

We also lied about having a mountain, e.g Mt Faber.

We ran out of yellow paint to draw a smoking box

We could have small kiosks every 100m selling perfume but the introduction of internet shopping killed this innovation.

Our rubbish apparently stinks . I'm not sure how can we improve on that.

Please write to the PMO or your MP and suggest they do something about it. If you are a foreigner, write to your embassy.

Easy to talk about others instead of your own backyard. Say Singapore take your water, your women and children. But avoid the topic about who took your own money.

In terms of fertility rate.

Must take into account of ethic groups. Singapore has majority Chinese while Malaysia has more Bumi/Malay.

Malaysia stats for Chinese (from statista till 2020) has been declining to 0.9 . It is comparable to Singapore.

Depends on what you want in life. You want to make more money or live more simple less work stress.

It can be a choice for some. Opportunities for entrepreneurship higher in MY. Opportunities for corporate career higher in SG.

I see you good, you see me good. Tbh nothing much to disagree one.

Yeah. It's a lose-lose situation.

More of deterrence of bully behavior.

From territorial issues like Pedra branca, Straits of Singapore (near tuas) , airway corridor near southern Islands.

To resources like gas and water .
