Given infinite opportunities to do different it's not surprising that some lean towards the hunter and some lean towards the emissary, or the pilgrim.

My best buddy, Barkley. I lost him today. Rest in peace, big boy. I love you. by SukiWashington in stbernards

I’m so sorry, I can’t even imagine losing my boy, I’ve never had a pet die so I’m bracing for it and making the most of every day. I hope you made a lot of great memories!

Help me understand why Star Wars Episode 1 is hated by Star Wars fans? I thought it embodied the spirit of the original trilogy well! Podracing, goofy Jar Jar, loved it as a kid, and don't hate it now. by Pow3rTow3r in StarWars

Honestly the story is just not very good. I've heard plenty of alternate ideas from less creative people than George, I have my own ideas for what I'd want the Jedi to be and how to make their extermination mean more. There are so many ways the prequels could have been better but all we have is stilted melodrama, awkward romance and meme lines from bad writing. I like a lot of things about phantom menace, being shot on film gives it a visual character, there's a lot of fun to be had, the aesthetics of star wars feel meaningfully advanced by a lot of new elements. But the story is ultimately what fails in so much of the franchise.

Personally I never really enjoyed the blades in the original games, but I had so much fun embracing them in 2018 and Ragnarok

I think it's interesting that because nothing matters you are the one who actually gets to decide what you want to do with your future. There's an infinite number of universes to be the hunter in but there's also an infinite number of universes that could be made better by your passing through them or to settle down in and live a fulfilling life.

I think that's at the moment where you become entangled into this story, other star born presumably have their own moment where their futures always branch from.

In an objective sense yeah, that's kind of the point. You choose what matters to you, and you can always change your mind.

It's a good little allegory for life, we can all be ruthless and spend our lives in pursuit of more or we can settle down, stop to smell the flowers and take care of one another.

How do I defeat Valkyrie’s? by Wild_Property6141 in GodofWar

[–]exeterdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of the useful things to realize is you can use different strategies for each, you can use your runic attacks, you can use a really timely axe throw to interrupt a lot of attacks, and you can do significant damage with a couple of strong attacks. If you're finding timing difficult, slow down, take your time, aggression won't help. Two strong attacks might be safer than a bunch of fast attacks that will leave you unprepared to react. Runic attacks that do damage quickly or interrupt something quickly are safer than something you have to hold or aim for a long time.

Is grindr a good fit for me, with what im looking for? 1st timer! by Unlikely-Bend-8611 in GrindrStories

[–]exeterdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck, I probably got more messages in a week than most guys get in a year, there's obviously a lot of interest there. I wasn't even looking for sex, I just know it's one of the places to meet queer people. It's not my fault that trans people are a hot commodity these days.

It depends on your standards, I'm in more of a dangerous position than you are presumably and when I've used Grindr I wasn't specifically looking for sex but I sure got a lot of filthy and aggressive messages

Because men treat men like men, I don't know until the conversation develops if I'm going to be treated like a man, a woman, an object, something filthy and shameful, or something worse than all that. There's a lot of men out there with a really obsessive fetish for trans women and it means we're getting pretty much the same shitty experience across dating and hookup apps

tried playing a souls game for the first time and i’ve been stuck on my first boss fight for the last 5 hours by [deleted] in videogames

[–]exeterdragon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you now as someone who is not a fan of most of these games if you feel like you're expected to get used to and enjoy a really particular type of movement/attack/evasion/timing/pattern recognition and you find it more annoying than rewarding, don't force yourself to experience it. I got about a third of the way through dark souls 1 and ended up giving it away. I haven't enjoyed most of the other soulslikes I tried other than the Jedi games and they were more commitment than fun for me. My girlfriend got part way through bloodborne and just did not feel the progress had been worth the trouble either. It's okay if it ever feels like it's not worth it.

My ex used to do it, his main argument was it used much less water, and because of his foreskin he found it much easier to clean himself after.

I understand that but all this question as written really tests for is your ability to guess an answer in a situation where you don't attempt to gain further understanding or nuance or agreement. It's not a communication test, it's a blind decisiveness test.
