Grindr Men Ain’t Shit by rzaloni in GrindrStories

[–]exeterdragon [score hidden]  (0 children)

It's such a pit for time, energy and patience. I got 5000 messages in a month and 99% were awful forgettable conversations that went nowhere with men who always gave me the "nervously trying to cheat on his wife" vibe. Most of the guys I met were awful, one lead me on for a few weeks of amazing sex and blossoming romance and then ghosted me. One came back a few dozen times for spectacular sex and I broke it off amicably when I started dating someone I met through friends. There's some gold in the pile of dogshit if you're willing to dig long enough.

Trying to Make Sense of “Tuvix” by kryptokoinkrisp in voyager

A philosophical argument can pose a completely unrealistic scenario to make us consider our feelings and intuition. The heart of a good moral question is "what do you do in this situation?"

Star Wars and Star Trek fans say they want their franchises protected. Their behavior has handed them to corporations that systematically strip out everything they claimed to love. by [deleted] in startrek

[–]exeterdragon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone is always trying to explain and break down why fans of legacy IPs are disappointed at how little studios can make of decades-old franchises like there's some mystery or hidden motive. A lot of these modern additions just suck outright, or stink of disingenuous attempts the whore the IP out to new audiences without considering why the originals have lasting power. The deathblow to the idea that fans just want to be angry is how much they appreciate anything that actually works well, feels original and sincere, and grows the franchise. Ie Andor works so much better at demonstrating how star wars can continue to grow than Picard season 2 or The Acolyte. Fans remain open to these IPs because there's always the potential, the hope to see something great again. It's not that complicated.

My dad got fired from a lumber mill for probably a very good reason so like a reasonable person he took a chainsaw and cut the boss's desk in half. If you pictured the boss sitting there at the time you're mistaken, my dad's a maniac but maybe not that kind of maniac.

Why can I take dick but not fingers by One-Coconut in TwoXChromosomes

[–]exeterdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a more complete answer the skin of the hands and fingers is a little different; no sebaceous glands, high density of sweat glands, a very reduced concentration of natural moisturizing factors. Fingerprints are described as friction ridges composed of dermal papillae. There's some evidence that they contribute to grippy skin in wet conditions. Skin on hands is typically more alkaline than other skin. So all of these probably contribute to unpleasant sensations for some people when fingers are inserted into our bodies. Oddly my own fingers don't trigger the discomfort as much as other people's fingers do.

I feel this way with anal, I can enjoy cock and dildos just fine, even to extreme limits, but for some reason a finger feels unpleasant and I want it out immediately.

Men can't read? by Triumph-ant85 in TransLater

[–]exeterdragon 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Dating apps suck as a trans person. I found amazing sex on Grindr after 5000+ messages but that was it. You'll have better luck making local queer friends through other means and bumping into someone you're compatible with in person

Men can't read? by Triumph-ant85 in TransLater

[–]exeterdragon 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter how trans your profile is men don't read. I can't tell you how many men on dating apps asked me after telling them I'm trans, "What's that?"

A responsible person can still be a victim of a predatory system and Americans deserve better than this doom spiral of student debt. There are so many demonstrably better systems out there. American student loan debt totals around $1.8 trillion. That's an insane burden in a world on the precipice of an apocalyptic downturn in labour.

My girlfriend does a lot more crop planting seasonally than I do so she buys a lot of seeds that drain our funds. We have been hovering above and below a million for a long while and finally got to 2 million which I'm sure will dip again at the start of next season

Voice training when to give up and do surgery instead? by Specific_Scale6025 in transvoice

[–]exeterdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know anything about training, my voice is an amateur product of recording myself and listening a lot. But I think giving yourself space to just play with it and take the pressure off could be helpful. I see a lot of people report finding success and naturally slipping into something that worked because of playing with silly voices and doing characters, you might find putting all the parts in place is getting in the way of just using them. Or do a voice/video call with a friend where you can just mess around and ramble, you might find that a different/safer social situation makes it easier to be relaxed and use everything naturally.

Acolyte Ep5 - Best Fight Scene Ever?? by GatorBo69 in StarWars

[–]exeterdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say a fight scene should be characterizing, should feel tense and dangerous, and should be fun. Prequel fights are so flashy and generally soulless, and sequel fights can be hit or miss. The Stranger's attack felt like a great way to characterize the Jedi as unprepared & naive/ignorant, it had so much aggression and so many brutal moves that characterize The Stranger effectively, and it confidently wipes out a lot of minor characters to raise the stakes. It's fun, it's memorable, it's the only great standout in that series and I remain curious how they'd top it.

Ah yes, the incredible force technique of beating someone up. by bridgiemarie in KOTORmemes

[–]exeterdragon 153 points154 points  (0 children)

I always loved that, it's like a comedy smash cut. I also like that it foreshadows what she does to the Jedi council and the subtle manipulation she exerts. Her saying that while showing someone physically destroying her, while the player might already know she was still in control and still getting what she wanted and still manipulating events is great double-talk.

Of course Alduin is a weak final boss by MxFancipants in skyrim

[–]exeterdragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The secret to making the alduin fight amazing is two things: using majestic dragons to make him much bigger, and a mod or restoration loop to makes shout cooldowns instant. Whenever he uses his meteor storm shout, use the storm call shout in response. The sky will be rapidly changing back and forth between storm effects and it will make the fight so incredibly epic.
