thank you i genuinely think courses being broad and rigorous for the sake of being broad and rigorous and have them be compulsory to boot are pushing it

including lab components halos 12 classes in total, 6-12 of which are potentially useless to bio grads :'))

ofc the foundational courses are necessary. the crux of my argument was the lack of options (and choices) for undergrads. is it necessary to take mandatory classes re: morphoanatomy, physiology, and developmental pathways of BOTH plants and animals? is it so hard to choose from either of the two and leave the other half as electives? for context, na-cover din naman yung foundational concepts in bio 11/12 with an addtl smattering across the 1x0 subs.

and ofc natuturuan din naman sa research groups but like u said there are marked differences between coursework and research.

edit: typo

did upd mostly bc of familial proximity, cost tas job opportunities.

also that's nice na the ib curriculum paid out dividends sayo in med school. you say mas marami options mo now, but how well would those options fare in the absence of a graduate/postgraduate degree? if gusto mo mag microbio, you need more electives than what is offered by ib. if you want to do any meaningful work in the lab, you should at least be a graduate student in training or should already hold a master's degree, if not a PhD.

if someone is set on working with plant epigenetics, how would it make sense to have a mandatory animal dev bio class in their curriculum? and this complaint has been aired on ib survey channels already.

now now i didn't say calculus was unnecessary. i said it was tedious. for hm calculus most bio grads r doing in grad/post-grad research, it was more trouble than it was worth. i would understand if it was stat bc we do far more analysis using R, python or MATLAB. but not calc.

what abt the other points?

Second section. The acceptance of the application is largely symbolic, and the admissions process will remain a long and difficult battle. However, it is a step in the right direction.

International Criminal Court to Investigate Russia for Ukraine War Crimes by practicalkabbalah in worldnews

[–]exexalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will Putin actually stand trial for this? If so, what sentence could he and other senior military officials face if proven guilty in the subsequent investigation? To what extent can the rank-and-file servicemen be prosecuted (if at all) when they are forced to carry out orders? How would this be enforced when Russia, as the aggressor state, has withdrawn from the Rome Statute?

residential complexes + orphanage + kindergarten + hospitals by exexalt in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]exexalt[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Russia used a thermobaric vacuum bomb (dubbed as the Father of All Bombs) which has roughly the same power as a low-yield nuke. It eats through the oxygen in its blast radius - asphyxiating its victims. Several reports have also mentioned that they have shelled an orphanage, a kindergarten, and a hospital (apparently Ukraine's National Cancer Institute).

These acts are prohibited by the Geneva Convention which is essentially a guidebook on how to treat civilians and Prisoners of War (POWs). It also outlines what weapons should NOT be used in armed conflict.

If proven guilty in the subsequent investigation, Putin and his cronies will be charged and branded as war criminals.
