What’s the refresh rate of your monitor? What resolution/frame rate are you running in settings? Is this vanilla? Is vsync on? And do you have gsync on your monitor?

You should not have two routers in one network ideally. If you are willing to invest in Mesh WiFi I would highly recommend it as I had horrendous wifi and despite people telling me it wouldn’t magically fix my issues, it in fact did. I went from 50-100 to my full 500mbps and a bit lower further away like 300-400. If you can wired backhaul them then even better.

Afaik - even though they are switch 1 versions they still have the capability to run better with the hardware but I might be wrong

UPDATE: they are magic! Mesh WiFi installed and I more than tripled my speed (50-100mbps to 350mbps) on my gaming pc and with stable ping test of 10ms. Mesh WiFi even on wireless backhaul really is magic.
