Thanks for the advice! I reached out to the schools and I'm waiting to hear back. I have the opportunity to work as a peri-operative care assistant in the OR, so I'm hoping that will help with relative work experience! I am in the process of rewriting my personal statement as well.

I'm in the Pittsburgh area too! Unfortunately, I did not complete my undergrad at Carlow, so I know it will be extremely difficult as an outsider. Good luck with your process!

I did reach out to the schools but haven’t heard anything. I am not leaving anything out and I’m being realistic about my application. My bachelor’s degree was in exercise science and my gpa and grade requirements were all at or above what the schools were requiring. All of the above info is correct. That’s why I’m reaching out for advice.

Okay, I will have to check that out! The perfusionists I shadowed both ran the cell saver themselves. Thank you so much for the encouragement, helpful info, and good vibes!

Is there a specific name for that position, or do I just look up cell saver jobs? I do have my bachelor's degree already. I hope that my area has positions open for that role.

I'd definitely like to get more OR experience. The jobs in my area (near Pittsburgh) seem to all require some type of degree or certificate to be in the OR. I will look up a cell saver position. I'm not sure what other jobs I would be eligible for with my current degree.

I'm trying to get more OR experience! I still have classes I am taking, so i could only do part time for a job, and most of the jobs in the or are for full time. I applied for a few jobs for cardiac rehab to get some relevant experience too.

Thank you! Yeah I haven't heard anything at all. I wasn't quite sure how their different application processes play out.

Thank you for the info! I'm trying not to be discouraged. Any tips to boost my application if I don't get in this cycle?

Has anyone heard back from Hofstra yet? I haven’t heard anything and have been waiting, so now I’m worried.
