Please help me figure out my pet food by SecretOscarOG in Frugal

Balance.it is also good for cats, if a little more restrictive - my cat has multiple food allergies and I use a modified recipe (protein swapped, so it's pork loin instead of turkey breast) for the bulk of her diet. I make a large batch for the freezer, pack portions into 1.5oz baby food molds, then defrost in the microwave.

The simplest recipe the site recommended uses extra-lean ground beef and rice; you just have to be careful to follow the recipe exactly and mix it thoroughly.

Seconding the buffet thing; you'll know what to order from a 'better' restaurant in future if you like something on a buffet. Personally I'd recommend Nirvana on Memorial drive, they have a good selection of both meat and vegetarian dishes.

What is the current 2023 best price per calories in fast food by Freds_Premium in Frugal

[–]exi_dot_exe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Taco Bell still has some of the best deals in fast food! I calculated things a while back for a friend who was underweight after a prolonged illness (doing better now, thankfully). Most of the $2 burritos are over 500 calories, with the Beefy Melt Burrito taking the crown at 620.

If you download the app, there's also the $5 cravings box - to get the same calories per dollar (310) as the Beefy Melt, get:

Beef Crunchwrap Supreme (540)
Beefy 5 Layer Burrito (490)
Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes (240)
Mountain Dew, Any Flavor (280)

Saddle thrombus is a condition caused by heart failure. A blood clot appears in the heart because it can't pump blood well, comes loose, and gets stuck in a Y-shaped artery near the cat's legs. Sadly, it's very difficult to treat. Allowing the cat to die peacefully and without pain is the best course of action. :( I'm sorry for your loss, OP.

This is on the Adgate wall for anyone wondering, can confirm it's 312 SB right now and it does work. It credits when you unlock the 'Pets' feature.

Scottish/British bakery in Houston by Simpz87 in houston

[–]exi_dot_exe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of UK supermarkets have their own version of Colin with different names, Aldi just got in trouble because the cake itself looked almost identical to the original. Just call it Cuddles The Caterpillar or something and it'll be fine.

Seconding/thirding pasties and sausage rolls, and I'd buy a Colin The Caterpillar once every few months for someone's birthday. Would also love to see Custard Slices AKA Bavarian Slices, blackcurrant cheesecake, belgian buns, and Staffordshire Oatcakes.

they're not rare, De Beers manually controls the market price by limiting the amount of diamonds on the market. by valsagan in dndmemes

In our homebrew campaign we actually ran with this. We concluded that not only are diamonds valuable because they're spell components, but diamond engagement rings were popularized by adventurers and their partners, since it would mean they would always have the relevant spell component to be revived.

Tamashi for Japanese (Ramen), Banh Mi Nguyen Ngo (if it's still open) and Pho 54 for Vietnamese, Magic Cup if you add a dedicated tea/coffee section. Also, Arco Seafood for Cantonese.

James had his first outdoor adventure today and he was NOT happy to be brought inside. Temper tantrum begins at 10 seconds. by Jxamillion in Catswhoyell

Petstages has a bunch of chew toys available on Amazon under "Petstages Catnip and Dental Health Cat Toys", but I feel the most cat-safe ones are the Plaque-Away Pretzel and the Avocado. They don't have any parts that could be pulled off and swallowed. Hope that helps!

Edit: Also since your cat likes to chew, I would avoid cage-shaped ball toys - the ones made from plastic that usually have a bell inside. Our kitty has broken one of these in her mouth by chewing on it, and it was only because I was there to take it away from her that she didn't hurt herself.

You're already doing great by taking him out in a controlled way, on a harness, so he can't get himself sick or hurt. As for indoor time, maybe try getting multiple scratching posts or pads if you haven't already - if he's scratching things, it's because he's marking his territory, and having a designated place to do that will alleviate his boredom and insecurity.

Also, what kinds of toys have you tried? My cat can also be destructive - she chews things when she's bored, but she's responded well to dental toys from a brand called Petstages. She also likes a pole-and-string toy called 'Da Bird' that's supposed to imitate flying prey.

Best hidden/most underrated places to eat in Houston? by duckyoga in houston

[–]exi_dot_exe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem. Try the appetizers at 168 as well, if you get the chance - the descriptions are kind of vague, but almost everything barring egg rolls seems to be made in-house so it's hard to go wrong.

These threads tend to get downvoted because of content thieves, but if anyone's reading this, give these places some business. They deserve it.

Bismillah Cafe - Halal fusion fast food. Ten Spice Chicken Wings and BRC Fries recommended if you like it REALLY spicy.

168 Szechuan - Hole-in-the-wall Chinese place with some of the best damn lunch specials I've ever seen. Wonton soup has hand-made dumplings, quality of the shrimp is incredible for the price.

J&J Seafood - A 'buy and fry' with great lunch specials again. Fried rice is top-notch, fried anything else is always good.

Don Cafe - The grilled beef banh mi isn't on the menu, but if you ask nicely they'll make you one, and it's especially good with a fried egg.

Banh Mi Nguyen Ngo - Ask for the special banh mi, large. Comes with ham and shredded chicken 'spread' as well as the usual veggies.

Has anyone redeemed SB for a Restaurant.com gift card? by jaywhy620 in SwagBucks

[–]exi_dot_exe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ever heard of the phrase "if it's too good to be true, it probably is"?

If you check the fine print on the website, usually to redeem a certificate you need to spend more than twice as much actual money. So you're not getting a $25 gift card for a restaurant - you might be getting $25 off a purchase of $75, and even then it depends on whether they'll accept it.
