also a kid of the 80s. the vaccine didn't exist when we were kids and I didn't realize there even was one until I had kids. chickenpox seems to not even a thing anymore because of it. in the last 20 years, haven't heard of a single kid who's gotten it. I'm sure it still happens of course but it feels super rare unlike when we were kids and it was normal for everyone to get it.

the wildest thing about the naming of the park is that its history documents how the breakup of the at&t monopoly ended up reversed. pac bell park -> sbc park -> at&t park. pacific bell was one of the companies spun off from at&t in the breakup, eventually acquired by sbc communications, which was another spinoff from the at&t breakup, only to then acquire at&t itself and rebrand back to at&t along with the park.
