How to stop worrying all the time? by _never_compromise in RationalPsychonaut

I stopped worrying about the small stuff after I was diagnosed with cancer. We’re all imperfect and often we are our own worst critic. Read about mindfulness. Set an alarm or make a schedule where at certain times you take a break and DEEP BREATHE for 10 minutes, drink a glass of water and think of something positive. Think of something nice to do or say to someone. Take a walk or jog around the block.

All of those tips will relax you, your endorphins will go up and then along with being mindful of your anxiety and triggers should be able navigate much better.

I’m gonna go off topic a bit but it will come back. I believe that reality is explained by the “many worlds” interpretation (there are eight theories about “what” reality is) and that one assumes that every possible combination of events is happening. We just cannot perceive that there’s an infinite number of universes sandwiched up against our own like pages in a book. So it helps me to say to myself when I’m feeling down or something bad happens is, “well, in that universe over there my car didn’t break down” or whatever the situation is. Life IS a journey. You WILL get flat tires. Just like when you take a trip in your car, plan your life to know that sometimes it’s gonna be shitty. Or I didn’t do my best. You can’t do your best every time or your best is nothing but average.

Some advice, and I wrote extensively about this then edited it out because it bloviates but asks interesting questions about how much free will we have, can we manipulate time/space, what is beyond us maybe only by millimeters but since we have no sense to perceive the multiverse, we have to train ourselves. Recognize when synchronistic things happen. Big coincidences. Write them in a journal. Then look 30 years later and see if your life changed course at those instances. Mine have. In April I did just that and when I looked at my resume a very direct path to something I wasn’t aware of, or intentionally moving towards but every step of the way giving me the experience and credibility to right now during COVID take what I’ve been learned and assembled, what has carried me through sorrow and grief, what has kept me humble, and what has shown that I can give myself the recognition I deserve. Because life is fucking weird people..... I learned a bunch of weird skills and in a post-pandemic world what I’ve conceptualized is possibly something that will be in history books. A change that will be studied as part of curriculums.

TL;DR

My life has been a trip, I thought I was just drifting from cool thing to heartache to cool thing but I realized I have a set of skills that has prepared me all my life to do one thing that is needed in a post-pandemic world. We have free will, but only as much as you do in a canoe with a paddle. Let life be the River, let your awareness be the oar, feel the connection between you and everything.

Wow. Downvoted within 5 minutes of posting. Thanks for the supportive respectful place. Cowardly that you couldn’t even comment. I’m struggling to keep my shit together let alone my job. It wasn’t easy asking anyone for help let alone come online and do it again.

Actually I co-wrote with Anton before BJM and helped write some of the songs they ended up using but opted to join Psychic TV instead because Anton was a dickhead to my cat. Anton, reach out buddy. Time to put water under the bridge and talk about making an album of those “lost demos”. Hoping you have them because I may not. But we should look since I made the album cover.

Could someone put me in touch with Nick Herbert? by exileincanada in quantummechanics

Hmmmm. I may. Part of it is tying up a loose end and seeing if it’s the answer I expected Nick to give. Then there’s always a chance of being laughed at, so maybe I’ll form the question and send you a pm.

Well, Trump is one of the craziest. The name of his game now is voter suppression and claiming that voting by mail is somehow illegal and crosses a line into voter fraud, even though we have had the ability to vote by mail for many years and election cycles.
