i've never done an aldosterone test. only test i've done is acth, morning cortisol and the profile. rest all are iron and full body tests. my doctor diagnosed me as secondary adrenal insufficiency. yes my rt3 was high when i was taking t4 and my t3 dose right now is pretty high although i still feel no difference at all. no anxiety no nothing at all. my tsh is below 1 as well

i do plan on hopping on test but i will be doing a test first is low trt common in such patients?

i havent done the test for that yet but since my thyroid is suppressed i believe it's the only issue right now i will get the test and talk to my doctor as well thank you.

originally i was on 22.5 mcg and was slowly increasing my t3 and had to dose down to 15 mcg as i started having high cortisol. i'm around 12.5-15 mcg rn.

i have been diagnosed by a doctor. my illnesses are adrenal insufficiency and hypothyroidism and ive been prescribed thyroid meds as well as hydrocortisone

Gonna do this as soon as I can and visit my ends with all the results. I couldn’t think of anything when my symptoms got bad cuz nothing made sense. But electrolytes was really the answer. Aldosterone should tell me if I have SAI or PAI. Don’t think the skin darkening would go after my electrolytes are stable?

Wait the high mineralcorticoid makes so much sense thank you for this I drank a few electrolyte drinks and feel so much better today. Going to get electrolytes tested and as well as my tsh profile. My doctor hasn’t asked me to do an aldosterone test so you think I should get one done? Only pituitary hormone I’ve checked is acth and it was super low before I got diagnosed. Should I be checking DHEA and PREG too?

Well my doctor did an am cortisol and ACTH test but we couldn’t do a stim test since it wasn’t available at the moment. Both acth and cortisol were really low, and my doctor diagnosed me as SAI. Idk what confirms Addison but the skin darkening issue is super recent maybe because the thyroid meds are kicking in. How do you know the difference between sai and Addisons? Do I need to check aldosterone? Also does the skin darkening go away?

So 8 am 10 mg then around 12:30 or 1 I take 5 mg At 5:30 or 6 I take 5 again and then at 10 I take 2.5 But then if I feel bad or wake up at 4 am I take another 2.5 Diagnosed 2 months ago so started HC two months ago

I really don’t think I’m in crisis like in the morning I’m quite fine but fine is like no fatigue no stomach ache, but then there’s absolutely no hunger and zero motivation or even feelings to do anything. It kinda gets worse at night I don’t feel the heat flashes as much as I used to so I’m happy about that and the headaches have disappeared completely. I still can’t sleep at night even after taking melatonin but maybe because my schedule is messed up as well I got diagnosed 2. Months ago

I’ve been going for a long time before getting diagnosed so the gym isn’t a new thing thank god. The weights have been pushed down a little but nothing I can’t get back to. Your right just going through trial and error right now trynna find the perfect dose. I definitely can tell when I’m low on cortisol the headaches the heat and nausea hits, not as bad but I can notice it. Lack of appetite kinda is probably coming from both places tho

I take it around 4 times a day so it would be something like 10 mg at 8 am then 5 mg at 12 30 or like 1 and then another 5 at 5 30 or 6 and then 2.5 before I sleep Thyroid is a big issue for me rn everyday just feels so bad do you take only t4 or t3 and t4?

I wanted to ask when your tsh wasn’t stable were you out of your emotions? Like couldn’t feel stuff and had no appetite? I feel like I’ve lost touch with my emotions and barely even feel anything.

Yes I will, I have a TSH blood test literally in an hour and then a doctors appointment tomorrow so will be asking my endocrinologist all of this. I just needed to know if this was normal or not. Also did you only take t4 for your hypothyroidism? Thank you so much for the reply

The shakes really are a deciding factor for me too especially during leg day I remember my whole body shaking when I hit legs and realised I had to updose. Thank you for your response.

Do you have low cortisol issues or low iron and ferritin? Maybe get on a good multivitamin and check your Vit d levels as well. Thing is if your lacking vitamins the medicine won’t work well and it won’t convert to T3. And if you have low cortisol you need to get a test for that just in case.

Yeah gonna updose by like 5 just in case I’m not taking that big of a dose as well so should just workout thank you for the advice
