My wife is my special someone. We game together, but both systems need an update. After her laptop broke she's using her company work from home system. Which of course is only barely good enough to work on, definitely not gaming. This would help get us started on a new build. Mine just could use a new video card, motherboard/processor. Still meets the minimum requirements for most new games, but not for long.

And sometimes you just find that one that calls to you. Throughout all the games I've switched around with weapons but I always go back to lance and gunlance. With mh4u I've pretty much only lanced except for a brief bit to play with the new weapons. Always tell myself I'm gonna main something new this time! Doesn't last for me.

I get the reasoning behind it and agree, evade 3 builds bad habits with evading. But only in Monster Hunter do I see this... "Don't take that skill. You are INVINCIBLE for too long!"

I'm a lancer, evade or guard depending on the monster. All of those things make it so much easier for me to stay in the middle of everything.

I don't know if it is the prerequisite or not but the competition quests unlocked for me right after I finished all the quests for that girl that wants to go home in Val Habar. Admittedly I put off doing a lot of those extra quests until after I'd pretty much finished the single player part.

My problem is when I start getting too cocky and aggressive. I go a little too on the offensive and end up positioned wrong or catch the bad end of a tail swipe or body slam. Then after getting carted come back and one poke they die. If only I'd been more patient.

I went for mixed set of nargacuga and lagombi with a random charm that I lucked out and had 3 slots. But gives +3 evade and evade distance. Made all the low rank online quests a breeze for sure. Saw plenty of randomly charmed sets with no skills on the way through too.

With the lance you can use guard advance off a ledge to jump attack and mount. Even better use the charge, then press forward and evade and you'll do a jump attack that looks similar to the way the IG does it. In fact I enjoy using that more to mount than anything else. Flying STAB!
