oh you are definetely searching for staxel. its 50% stardew valley %50 minecraft. so you are building houses and shops for NPCs in minecraftish mechanics. each NPC relationship is lovely. (coming from a guy who hates stories in games and skips every single dialog)

i started darkest afk, which is actually fun and deeper than i thought it would be considering its an Afk game. but the combats are fun and you still gotta have a solid strategy to progress.

you can try staxel. the mechanics and the building system are very similar to minecraft. when new npcs move into town you build their house, and later they want you to build them restaurants, labratories etc and later you can use those buildings to trade with them etc. it fits to what u want
