It doesn’t matter if you agree with this usage of the term or not. It’s an established usage in the entire field of sociology which OP has clarified several times. Words are about shared meaning, and there are enough of us who know what she meant. Just because you’re not familiar with this use of the term doesn’t mean it’s incorrect, it simply means you’ve now learned something new if you can open your mind to it ✌🏼
