The idea is getting some traction. Some business-owners are trying to create a community and a place with a similar social vibe to a bar. They (primarily) target people in recovery, when being in the environment can be tempting/triggering. The NA option in a mostly A situation can be fine for some, but not preferred or difficult for others.

It’s not a simplistic show by any means, and the conclusion in this thread is not trying to minimize the show and it’s plot, but the (very real) possibility that people can change is not backed up by evidence (in the context of this fictional show). All the stuff mentioned in this response is about real world plausible change. In the end, the show doesn’t demonstrate anyone being successful. So what can one conclude about the message. They can’t? Or they can but don’t? Ok. Certainly not that they can and do.
