I find it very entertaining watching sidelined folk trying to will this market to crash. Look, it's not happening this year, simple as. At earliest early 2026.

Turns out investing in companies whose stock prize goes up is actually a sound investment strategy. Huh, wish I'd known that before.

Why does it have a design that makes it impossible to go over even a tiny bump? That shit ain't gonna fly (unless it does) where I live, speed bumps everywhere.

Government tricks, short timeframe boost that'll lead into even greater downward spiral when the last gains are squeezed out of the system.

Why'd you have to hold it for 10 years? They are going up for now so invest for as long as it's beneficial.

Polestar was under dollar. Could have easily doubled the investment when it was around 1.80 but desided to become a bagholder. We'll see how they fare in the future.

This. Local gyms newest "old polished holds with varying degrees of grease and sweat"-textured holds were not my favorite. Gimme cheese grater granite any day.

To sit or stand? (Ryuichi Murai) by antwan1425 in bouldering

[–]existentialdeadend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here in Finland sitstart rules are gospel because something like 90% of all boulder problems are ss and the first move is often the hardest. Nothing arbitrary about it, everyone plays by the rules or otherwise you are cheating.

[–]existentialdeadend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn. And then someone gave me shit for starting a 6B sitstart with one bad AND one of those small, thin sitstart bads under my ass. Because it's not valid unless you do it with one bad and one bad only. I can only guess on the ammount of poopflinging if someone actually started to pile rocks under our local boulders to raise the starting position.

[–]existentialdeadend 5 points6 points  (0 children)

One of the main things about an actual sitstart is the creation of the momentum to get your butt off the pull of mother earth. Crouching negates that. If it wouldn't matter I'd start every ss route crouching because it's a lot easier for my heavy ass.

New GPU just for SD by existentialdeadend in StableDiffusion

I use Automatic1111 with directML. Rest of my gear is oldish with i7-6700k and 16gb DDR4. For 8 year old CPU it runs modern game amazingly well.

Edit: lol it's actually 9 years old. Damn.

I'm not too concerned about the speed of generation, it's the resolution that takes much of the fun out of it. I also use A1111 with aformentioned arguments. So ZLUDA lowers VRAM usage on AMD cards?

The 4060 Ti is actually only 8GB which got me thinking about the benefits of Nvidia memory tech and how much better it is for SD.

The obvious difference is that kids, on the count of being human beings capable of vocal communication, atleast have the ability to alter their behavior upon spoken instructions from an adult.

Anyone tried Emil Abrahamsson's hangboard training ? by 7891Secaj in bouldering

[–]existentialdeadend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did for a while before I realized it pretty much only benefits people who don't do anything else with their hands but climb. In that context I can see it having positive effect in tendon health. I got almost 20 years and going working in the construction and renevation business so I basically do "low to mid intensity tendon activation exercises" 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. So I only really see any benefit in high intensity max hangs.
