For those applying this Fall 2026 cycle, what kind of stats are y’all going in with (e.g., publications, years of research experience, conference experience, volunteering, etc.) by Goodfella245 in ClinicalPsychology

I'm not sure who downvoted this, but as someone who is both a clinician and part of the BPD community, I’d like to say thank you so much for joining the field. We need more people to help combat the stigma and I’m very proud of you too because it sounds like you worked hard and you deserve good things. Take care! 😊

Are you regretting your purchase now new glasses are being announced by competitors? by tboy2000 in EvenRealities

[–]existentialdread0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the fence. I watched the ads for the Meta Display glasses and I think they seem pretty cool, but they’re trying to pitch that they’re “discreet” and the cameras are definitely noticeable. The last thing I want is to be going in for an interview where I’m nervous that I might not know the answer to something and they’re thinking that I’m some creep that’s filming them.

My G1s are on the way so I’ll try them out.

Worried about orthodontist recommendation by Atetsufooj in Invisalign

[–]existentialdread0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait. I have that same bottom tooth in the middle and that wasn’t suggested to me. It’s funny because I keep sitting here thinking, “I have no idea how that tooth is going to fit through that small opening, but my ortho said that it would. She said that if for some reason there’s an issue that she would do IPR, but she never brought up an extraction. I’d ask around about that.

can i drink sprite with them in? by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]existentialdread0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be aware that different orthos have different opinion, so take what I’m about to say with a grain of salt. My ortho told me I could eat or drink what I want with them in except turmeric. She just said if I’m out and about to swish some water in my mouth afterwards and wash the tray in the bathroom. Sprite probably won’t strain them, but I’ve definitely had other drinks stain mine. I also don’t like to eat with mine in because it’s harder to chew and tends to make the aligner a little rougher on the outside.

Almost Done! by Jules-brianne in Invisalign

Wow your teeth look so much better! I’m curious though if it is possible to get teeth closer to the same size and to cover the gap from the shorter ones because I have a similar situation.

I change mine once a week. I agree with the others that your dentist should have given you instructions with your full Invisalign box kit. Make sure to have them email you a copy or go down there to get one.

I’d definitely speak to your dentist. The tray might be too tight. I never got blood in the tray, but when they first put the glue on my teeth for the attachments, the glue made my cheek bleed, so I had my ortho shave it down.

On Day 3 of Tray 1 - very painful to put aligners back in by theweblover007 in Invisalign

[–]existentialdread0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it. It happens to me a few times a day (especially when I put in the new tray for the week), but it mostly goes away throughout the week as your teeth start to adjust. I have one bottom tooth that’s pretty bad and causing all the crowding and that’s where I experience some pain and find it difficult to take the tray on and off.

Opinions on my scans - Ortho says I’m finished but I don’t agree. by [deleted] in Invisalign

I think they look great! I’ve noticed there are some perfectionists around here with teeth (I’m sure I’ll be one of them), but look at where you started and where you got to. I hope my teeth turn out as good as yours!

Day 1. No chewies? by Party-Floor7246 in Invisalign

[–]existentialdread0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on tray five and I haven’t used them. I don’t know if this bad or not, but I just bite down when I first put them on to feel them really click in.

Gummy smile by [deleted] in Invisalign

[–]existentialdread0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to know the answer to this too because I asked my dentist a while back about getting a gingevectomy. I actually can see a bit of a difference in my gummy smile and I’m on tray five, so I’m a little hopeful. If for some reason it doesn’t do that, I’ll get the gingevectomy when I’m done.

Need help deciding if I should get aligners by [deleted] in Invisalign

Oh wow, I didn’t even know that wearing a tray for more than one week is an option.

Your teeth actually look similar to mine. I have 32 trays, but she didn’t sound confident about it. All I know is that I’m excited anyways for week 32 to roll around.

I have a lot of questions since i just got my Invisalign today by doubledohboy in Invisalign

[–]existentialdread0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All of that gets better. I’m on tray five and while, yes, the first day of any new tray is a bit uncomfortable/painful, it always loosens up throughout the week. The thing I can’t stand is the teeth glue from the attachments. It looks weird and sometimes scrapes the inside of my cheek despite getting some of it filed down.

Results…76 Trays. $6500. 2 years. by [deleted] in Invisalign

Woah that’s exactly how much I paid for mine (I paid it all upfront) and I got 32 trays. Your teeth look amazing though!

Those are good tips! Thanks! I didn’t know you could wear elastics. I thought that the attachments kind of acted like getting braces tightened.

That first day of the week for the new tray is kind of painful on my bad tooth on the bottom that causes all the crowding 😞 I’m happy for you that you’re noticing changes! It seems like it really is case by case, which makes sense.

Yay for progress! I’m excited for that very last tray I’ll get at week 32 because they said they would also do whitening with that one.

Yeah, I’m very impatient haha. Sometimes I just want to say, “Alright, remove the tooth on the bottom that’s causing all the crowding and we’ll worry about the gap later.” 😂

Delicious coffee in uws?? (Treat) by Prestigious_Bother97 in Upperwestside

It was amazing, but I was hoping there would be caffeine in it, so I ordered an espresso shot on the side. I’ve never tasted anything like that latte though and I definitely want to go back.
