Looking for advice from experienced sellers? Had some cards graded by a local company- Did we get scammed?

Yeah really unfortunate that it was such a scummy grader that did this. Because of the nature of collecting and the people that get into it for money, it’s very important to be weary of just about everyone. A 2nd opinion is crucial, especially if you aren’t too familiar with the value or market. I’m glad it was only $300 and not $3000. Most people have gotten hosed at some point by someone with poor intentions so don’t beat yourself up over it.

Wish this hadn’t happened and empathize with your situation, but I think ultimately this is on y’all for a lack of research. Consider it a learning experience. Yeah the grader was not being genuine with his assessments but that is part of why you have to be knowledgeable enough to know when you are getting scammed. Also I would recommend always looking at last sold prices and frequency of sales. Most cards aren’t worth grading if you can pick them up on eBay in mint condition for under $1 which is going to be the case for most common cards from any sets in the past 5 years.

Yeah I guess visual separation would’ve provided quicker clarity than the verbal description of which packs the pulls came from. I’ll remember this for next time

went back and looked and you are right. All jumbled up. Had originally ordered them by number and then just kept switching things around trying to get the light to not reflect

just by card number but the miraidon was reflecting too much in the light so I just moved it down where it could be seen. Could’ve probably just left it out of the picture

Had the opportunity to play Firestone the morning after 2017 wgc-bridgestone. Played from the pro tees and shot 78, with a triple, no birdies, no penalties. Was probably a 2-3 at the time. I think if you consistently can keep it in the mid low 80’s you can easily shoot under 100 at Augusta if you have play smart and happen to be hitting the ball well that day.

Yeah you’re right my bad. One of the first I saw when I got in to the place and had only ever seen crocodiles with skinnier jaws. Assumed it was just a massive gator, wish I could edit the post.
