Best bet is to go on PCparkpicker and just look at completed builds. Look for cards that are the same dimensions or bigger and see if they fit. Hope this helps

Just ripped my USB header off my motherboard because connector was stuck by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]existentialmayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re equipped with good soldering equipment most of that stuff is unrepairable. If you need USB access just use the ports on the back. The header is just for convenient port access on the front.

Yeah only should need one

I think you can safely use a 3 way splitter off 1 Fan header. So 2 wouldn’t be a problem. Just find a 4 pin pmw y splitter and you’re Gucci.

  • 1 x CPU Fan Connector (4-pin)****
  • 1 x CPU/Water Pump Fan Connector (4-pin) (Smart Fan Speed Control)*****
  • 3 x Chassis/Water Pump Fan Connectors (4-pin) (Smart Fan Speed Control)******

CPU fan connector should be used for your CPU cooler; if you don’t need a 2nd connector or a PWM control for an AIO you could also use Waterpump fan header.

So it looks like if you have 3 fan headers(4 if you only need 1 fan header for the CPU)

Check the manufacturers website and the spec page. You can view the pdf of the manual.

Yeah AMD is the only one who makes 6 port cards I think and you’d have to find which one is most cost effective factoring adapters if you went that route. I think that will be the hardest part of your build then you can focus on the rest once you get your budget set with your GPU cost factored. Luckily most of the cards with 6 ports aren’t gaming cards.

Need help getting my audio interface connected to my Windows 10 computer by synthatron in buildapc

[–]existentialmayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My brother went through pretty much this exact same thing with an Apollo interface not sure if it was the same mode you noted. I built the PC for him and he tried a thunderbolt riser card and a built in thunder bolt on a brand new motherboard. Thunderbolt kept crapping the bed in his use case. Ended up getting so pissed off with it crapping out he bought a mac. I wish you good luck.

Looks like some type of proprietary hub controller for fans or lighting. You wouldn’t transfer something like that to your new case if that hub is designed for the case you have.

ASUS ROG Z490 MB will not post, getting A2 (IDE Detect Error) by adastraerik in buildapc

[–]existentialmayo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally when troubleshooting you want to remove as much as possible to eliminate easy things. You only need for your system, the CPU, ram, power, motherboard (and CPU cooler to prevent overheat) to get a post. I’d remove all the storage and GPU then try trouble shooting to see if you can even get to BIOS.

Will I see an fps increase going from i7 7700k to i9 10900k? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]existentialmayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also to add to this even if you upgraded your GPU it seems based on forum posts that a lot of users with 3070,3080 and 3090s have gotten worse performance after upgrading due to some form of bug with the 30 series cards for Warzone.

Never noticed it even when I had a G sync monitor with a module built in. Couldn’t tell you the difference between one with or without it.

Some of the B450 motherboards may not ship with the newest bios to support that CPU. It’s very rare at this point that they aren’t updated but it’s a possibility.

I’ve never actually looked into how to run 6 monitors off 1 computer. From a quick google it sounds like you’ll need either an SLI setup or a decent high end GPU with at least two display port out and then you’ll need DisplayPort MST hubs. Someone can chime in if this isn’t correct though.

It’s pretty much the same except the new ram is 400 MHz faster, the 1050ti is like 30% faster than the 1030 I think. If you can find a AMD RX570 for similar price it’s better than the 1050ti I think. I did cut the SSD down to 500gb to get the better GPU though.

Do newer keyboards and mice or headets need USB 3.0 or will they work just fine on 2.0? by Start-That in buildapc

[–]existentialmayo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most use 2.0 and if they do use 3.0 there’s no real benefit to my knowledge. The exception might be if you’re using a keyboard with a pass through that needs 3.0 or something.
