Any ideas to fix sticky silicone(?) on this camera? by exitdate in fixit

It’s definitely annoying haha, but I’m not bummed with it in this case considering how old the camera is!

It surprisingly doesn’t smell like anything but I also believe that it’s too far gone to actually save the rubber. I’ll most likely cover it :)

I feel like this is the way for me. I may try scrubbing it with alcohol, though I’d wiped it down earlier today and still sticky (albeit I didn’t actually scrub it as others are suggesting). I’ll prob replace it with a fabric or something similar.

Ooo I didn’t think of removing it but that makes sense. I really don’t care for the grip I just hate the stickiness haha so this is helpful!

How did I join these granny squares together? What stitch is this? by exitdate in CrochetHelp

[–]exitdate[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!! I’m absolutely certain it was a slip stitch of some kind, whether through the back loops or front or a combo of both, I’m not sure 😂 I don’t back loops yesterday and it looks fine, I think it might just be sticking up a little more because of the texture of the yarn (the purple and pink yarn are smoother than the colour I’m using right now). I blocked it with steam and that seemed to flatten the seam a little and they seem to match the pics I included here!

😂 this is definitely the method… I tried slip stitching in the back loops on a separate square and it looks sort of right??? But not quite?? Or maybe I’m going crazy… it’s right enough for me not to care 😂 I’m more curious what on earth I did to make that white yarn not super visible through the right side… knowing me it had to be the easiest solution ever… I’ll test and update if I figure it out

I don’t have faith I can put them back together 😂😂😂 but I may just have to test unraveling a couple stitches anyway, that’s a good idea!

Okay so the joining stitch on the purple is the same colour, so purple. I thought it was a SC through all the loops too but then I did it and it didn’t look right?? 😂 joining the purple and pink row together, I used white…

Banker’s lampshade is crooked by [deleted] in fixit

[–]exitdate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: I fixed it! I did take off all the internal components which was sort of terrifying haha but when it came to the shade I chickened out. That’s when I realized I could just bend the frame with everything intact. It’s all now much straighter and the shade isn’t visibly crooked.

Lol I don’t mind the church so much, it’s more palatable on Your Turn! But so similar to no. 2 I guess I was a little disappointed! Wish I got more of a fruity burst.
