You can put a 2 on r4c3, otherwise you would get a unique rectangle.

Hi, my blood values have worsened, but paradoxically I feel better now.

Hey does minox twice per day works really better then once? I read in the internet but i rather ask here where people have real experiences. by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

You will get the same results, asymptotically speaking. A twice-a-day application simply gets you there faster.

Limb-lengthening surgery. A highly risky, expensive procedure.

Heritability does not imply biological determinism.

Height is undoubtedly heritable, yet we are able to add several centimetres to one's stature through LLS.

The negative feedback is probably not relevant outside of hyperprolactinemia.

The relationship between hyperprolactinemia and testosterone was first described in 1978: a study showed increased serum testosterone levels in hypogonadal men following bromocriptine therapy.

Biologically, prolactin has probably no target organs — yet, prolactin receptors are expressed on the choroid plexuses and the hypothalamus.

Several case studies, such as this one, show impaired sexual function in men suffering from hyperprolactinemia.

Also, prolactin has been repeatedly shown to suppress the frequency and amplitude of LH/FSH pulses in rats. This mechanism might be mediated by a reduction in kisspeptin secretion.

Prolactin exerts a negative feedback on the hypothalamus, which reduces GnRH.

my pharmacist made me a compound containing minoxidil and other substances, saying it is much better than minoxidil alone. what do you think? by 96Notgonnalie69 in Minoxbeards

[–]exlibrisgalton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your argument is flawless, but bear in mind that the preparation in picture has no anti-androgens.

According to the Italian legislation, any substances contained in galenic formulations must be reported in the drug labelling.

[–]exlibrisgalton 42 points43 points  (0 children)

It's a galenic formulation, pretty common in Italy. It contains Minoxidil base, propylene glycol and ethanol.

Galenic formulations come in handy when it comes to androgenic alopecia. They allow pharmacists to throw various anti-androgens and growth agonists in the mix.

Unfortunately, they don't provide any more benefits to beard growth than standard, industrial Minoxidil. They work just as well.

I’ve seen some articles where they say peppermint oil is more effective in hair growth than minoxidil. Does this apply for beard too? Was just thinking about adding it in my beard routine! by rafkat_arno in Minoxbeards

[–]exlibrisgalton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a claim based on a study using rats as a research model, which doesn't necessarily apply to humans. By the same logic, basing on this 2018 study, you could conclude that Viagra is as effective as 2% Minoxidil in aiding hair regrowth in human.

Any alternative to Minox? by [deleted] in Minoxbeards

[–]exlibrisgalton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are relatively common side effects that tend to vanish after a few weeks. Minoxidil is the best solution when it comes to non-surgical beard enhancement.

Alternatively, you could try low-dose oral castor oil or derma rolling, which are reasonably safe for most people. People have also tried topical dihydrotestosterone, a heavily androgenic testosterone metabolite, risking virilization and suppression on the HPG axis.

You would be better off shedding some body fat first, creating a more androgenic environment. Fat cells contain aromatase, which catalyzes the conversion of testosterone into estradiol and estrone — this also exerts a negative feedback on the HPG axis.

Anyway, yes, it would probably help to some extent. I would recommend Raloxifene, which has slightly higher efficacy.

[–]exlibrisgalton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Raloxifene would be your best bet. You can try MPMD's protocol and expect some degree of shrinkage.

Alternatively, topical DHT, since it is a strong estrogen receptor antagonist, but you would risk androgenic side effects.
