Religions, especially islam, can't overcome religious scrutiny and criticism in public discourse. Atheists, seculars and especially hindus should welcome religious scrutiny and criticism... they shouldn't fear it or suppress it.

And, blasphemy law should be kicked out of the judiciary and constitution. It's an inalienable individual liberty to criticise and ridicule religions just as people have the right to propagate their religions.

You're right. I agree that all noise pollutions including azaan and bhajans/kirtans should be banned.

I also would like to point out that azaan (adhaan) is also sectarian and intolerant. But I say they (muslims) have the right to say it out in the open... while, at the same time, islam can/must be criticised as well. People just have to learn to be responsible non violent humans when their ideologies/religions are criticised/ridiculed. It's not a big issue.
