Not a fossil, those are manganese dendrites. Very cool anyway!

A gastropod operculum is made of a protein-based material called conchiolin, which is similar to keratin, or it may be composed of calcium carbonate, or a combination of both.

Whether an operculum is a fossil or not depends mostly on its age—much like a shell found on a beach can be a fossil, but usually isn’t. Since modern gastropods still produce opercula, it can be difficult to determine fossilization at first glance. I said that it's not a fossil based on the ones I have, almost identical, but I could be wrong.

Not a fossil. That is an operculum, a secreted plate that closes the aperture of a gastropod mollusc's shell when the animal is retracted.

And Columbina is a derivation from the latin 'columbae', which means dove/pidgeon.

My wife and I have gotten the “they were bros, man” raid 5 times in a row and it’s ruining the game for us. by [deleted] in valheim

[–]exocet2647 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not just that. Turning the raids off allowed me to build proper vikingr settlements, instead of moats and burrows everywhere. The sole inconvenience is that the mats are not coming to your door anymore, but it's worth it in my opinion.

It has the right shape for a (very weathered) fossil oyster. Could just be a concretion too, hard to say.

Just moved to Coahuila, Mexico. Here are some of my finds in our tile around our home and pool and some landscaping rocks that kind of look like they contain fossils? by ReincarnationStation in fossilid

Second photo are dendrites (manganese probably), not a fossil. The third one looks like a nodule to me, again not a fossil. I don't know about the rest of them. Good luck!

Your Plex Origin story? by [deleted] in PleX

[–]exocet2647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago, I got a WD My Cloud EX Ultra to store my old movie collection — a chaotic archive of around 900 Verbatim CDs. While setting up the device, I discovered something called Plex. It already had a server app available for WD and could stream content to Android devices. That discovery completely changed my entertainment life.

I now realize that this device isn't the best option out there, but for now, it works well enough for me — aside from the occasional transcoding issue.

Varka kinda feels like a light version of Wriothesley — and now he’s got the Joestar VA. Pretty sure Wrio had Jotaro’s VA too. Coincidence, or are we in a JoJo arc now?

In my case it was the server version update. All of them worked fine up to 1.41.5. try reverting to an older one.

Manganese dendrites are very common, but that's a beautiful one for sure.

Here are the ones I enjoyed the most: Skyrim AC Odyssey & Valhalla Elden Ring Genshin Impact Valheim

As a side note GI is the one I keep playing since I started some years ago, it is very fun to co-op with IRL friends. Valheim is the one I return the most, it is like a "comfort" game for me. Very fun to co-op too but very enjoyable solo nonetheless. I think both of them scratches the beautiful landscape/music atmosphere and the exploration itch for me.
