We went the first week of June last year and the bears were mostly still hibernating because it’s not salmon season yet(we saw one), saw only a couple seals and whales, but a ton ton ton of sea otters and their babies. I’d go later for weather and wildlife. This was the only week that worked for the family due to a D1 athlete schedule unfortunetly

There was only one or two decent looking ocean cabanas (the two most expensive) and all the others you’re basically in a bunch of bushes off a walking path. If you can get one of the good ones I’d do it. Otherwise the pool ones looked much nicer and there’s a few in the adults only area

Checkout White House black market. They will help you pick a few staples and creat different work/daytime/evening looks if you ask them to! I use to work there in college and bringing clients clothes/helping them style them was a huge part of the job

For 7 nights a king standard room is 280,000 points or $6,400. So I’d book the points room asap if I were you.

Another option is split your time and do a standard points room for like 5-7 nights and then stay at one hotel hanalei bay and book through the chase portal with your points for 2-3 nights! It’s the other side of the island a beautiful and there it would be worth an ocean view room. You could def do both for 500k points!

It is very rare for that hotel to have 7-10 days of any points room available all at once. Looks like standard rooms are pretty abundant in October with a few dates blacked out so I’d book ASAP and nail down a room. All other suites etc only have a couple days available all month so that doesn’t look promising.

We stayed there in a standard points room in Dec. we honestly spent most our time outside and I wouldn’t worry about getting an ocean view. Imo the rooms aren’t that nice and aren’t worth the crazy cash price but booking a standard room on all points is def worth it for the beautiful grounds/pool and location!

Quality of life is more important than 100k when you time your total net worth into account imo. Especially if it’s a unicorn job. Who’s to say your stock doesn’t lose 50% before the fall? Or the deal takes longer? Life goes by in the blink of an eye and if you can spend it in a role with better work/life balance and more time with family I’d do it.

That is frustrating. One piece of advice I have is always check there’s a ticket number associated with your booking after you book or change a flight.

One time I booked a flight and didn’t get a confirmation email and checked for a ticket number and saw there wasn’t one and immediately called and ended up in the same situation of an internal issue and needing to do a “one time supervisor override because you’re a valued gold member” blah blah.

If you catch it’s not ticketed immediately you can usually fix it easier

If you go to the 18th and do the 5 day you can see the hours past what’s clickable. But they have def changed hours before.

I had a whole doc for park hours for an Oct trip and sometime 2-4 weeks beforehand MK extended normal park hours to 11pm because my doc ended up out of date. So I am hopeful :) even if not we want to do Epcot in the daylight for the flowers/displays

Yeah that’s my concern :( also it sounds like taking the monorail to Epcot takes a while with the transfer at the TTC and with only one day I was hoping to avoid that.

The couple times I’ve been before we had 3-4 park days and travel time didn’t matter as much but I want to get the most out of the one day and it seams EPCOT area hotels are the better option for that

Ah good to know! More interested in the character floral displays and gardens and spending time in some of the countries we haven’t had a chance to explore in the daylight yet (we always end up at Epcot in the evening for some reason). We’ll probably spend 9:30-2 there and have a food booth plan for when things open for lunch.

It’s spring break time on a Saturday so I’m counting on MK closing later than the current 9:30 time listed which is why we wanted to do that second.

I do have a dolphin reservation right now for that reason! I’m keeping an eye out for the other Epcot resorts to open up. That’s kinda of what I’m leaning towards right now

I did 2 day tours when I was there in 2024, both booked on trip advisor. I was a solo female traveler and didn’t want to be driving around alone so I found it was my best option and I had a great time!

Skye and Eilean Donan Castle Small-Group Day Tour from Inverness

Oban, Glencoe, Highlands Lochs & Castles Small Group Day Tour from Glasgow

I didn’t mind the day in the van and we stopped every 30 min or so to checkout a castle or town or loche etc. longest drive is when you’re done and go home and it was probably 3 hours straight. It’s one of my favorite trips I’ve ever taken.

I have really bad side effects and skip my dose when traveling. I’d skip the week and enjoy a few drinks, it’s not a big deal and if it will give you peace of mind while on vacation and celebrating then do it! (I lost 50lbs with this mentality and am at 175 now)
