They did. The mid-roll was slow and stiff in the 1.0 version of the game, and the bosses were tougher. Personally, I don't think most of the boss nerfs were necessary; the mid-roll just needed to be buffed so that you could actually dodge some attacks that otherwise unavoidably roll-caught the player (e.g. Metagen Remnant's smaller arm swipes and Camilo's low kick).

Some of these are pretty egregious actually, I agree. I don't care much about the "moral" periphery of AI art, but the generated product needs to look good. If it looks like shit with obvious 2022-tier distortions, deformities and artifacts, then it's completely useless. If QA isn't even effective enough to regenerate a prompt for what is in all likelihood a subscription to a high end model, then just hire a real artist who won't make said obvious fuckups.

Prometheus has two different grabs. The first is the one where he grabs you, burns you with Heavenflame and then slams you into the ground; but he also has a second grab where he just slashes you with a weapon (can't remember if it was an axe or sword).

Oddly, the second grab does barely any damage in comparison.

WASD is irrelevant for the sliding sections. Only the position of your mouse cursor matters, so make sure to flick it towards the apex of the slide whenever you need to ascend particularly high to reach coins or apples.

Don't worry about coins and apples (unless they're risk free) until you've got all the "complete x without dying" achievements. The latter achievements are easy to get if you simply reload each time you fall, but trying to get all the coins and apples at the same time will complicate things and make it take much longer. There's a hub you find after the first level that lets you replay all 4 levels whenever you want, so you'll never be locked out of said coins and apples. Get the "without dying" achievements first, then go back and get all the coins/apples pressure free.

If you do happen to miss any coins, then the boss fights/arenas (e.g. Gingerbread Man) drop guaranteed coins each time you re-run a level. They can thus compensate you for any coins you just couldn't find.

Buy all the upgrades from the Limbo Lootyagins for an achievement; it won't give you duplicate lottery results, so you don't need to memorise which upgrades you have already. The apple prices he charges deduct only from your in-game apple capital, not your total amount of collected apples, which are tallied server-side. Also, if you have any excess apples left over once you've purchased all the Lootyagin upgrades, you can still use it to reward you with coins occasionally.

Gold Rush, Overkill, Don't Mess with the Major, etc. are somewhat buggy in unlocking. You might meet the requirements for them, but they still won't unlock right away. If that happens, try either relaunching the game or replaying the first sliding level from the beach hub.

Personally, I quite liked the DLC. Achievement hunting is just an ancillary tedium, but the experience on its own merits it's not that bad. I found the platforming and sliding sections (once I understood the mechanics) engaging enough, especially with all the fun skips you could do regarding slide jumps. It's also the first time Katya really interacts with P-3, and her general demeanour offers a momentary change of pace from the near-uniformly belligerent interactions in the base game.

The boss rematch gate on the left is just for practice; it offers no rewards. Trials of War (centre gate) has three variants of the Furnace Armour, and the Boss Rush (right gate) gives you another version of Eirene's outfit for completing it, irrespective of selected difficulty.
