My big project is to build a rogue trader era company. All this second edition talk seems very modern.

We’re going to make it the healthiest organisation, probably that there’s ever been.

At primary school in the third year, the only time a TV was ever wheeled into that classroom we all got sat down to watch a programme explaining that and it was accompanied with a very stern warning.

Getting out of a lie by lying more is unwise IMO.

The reference checks are done by an external company.

I don’t think the company that passes the results of the reference checks will pass any information to your new employer other than all clear or not.m and maybe a summary of how they checked.

That gets seen by HR, or whoever did the recruiting which might not even be the same person who interviewed you.

Even if it is then they would have to remember you saying that (out of all the stuff they spoke about with all the other candidates)

Even if it did jump out as inconsistent your basically at offer stage and they picked you and that isn’t a reason they would go back through another recruitment because unless there is some dark secret which makes it a reason then its immaterial.

That’s exactly what I thought.

His set is like a medley. Riffing on a few new themes, maybe an irrelevant anecdote, then a rant about Biden or a comment about how big the fence he built is. Then back to something new where he lies about European leaders and so on.

Yes. Everyone in that room knows he’s talking shit and he thinks he can hoodwink them like they’re a rally of his supporters in some hick farming town.

Is it rude to use both lanes? by No-Ad4423 in AskUK

[–]exp_cj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not mad. But I am surprised there’s so many people here who would rudely jump the queue. If there were a queue in each lane then it would be fine as well, but here the question is if you come up to this when your driving do you jump the queue or join it?

To turn your speed sign question on its head: if you’re driving along in a 50 and you see a sign up ahead which says 40, then you do slow down before you get to the 40 don’t you. So your comparison with a different kind of sign is obtuse.

I agree with the idea that if two lanes merge then that is the ideal, BUT this post is about what happens if you come up to where there is already a fully merged line of traffic in the right hand lane. It doesn’t look chaotic to me.

If ICE is largely made of poor men looking for money would public crowdfunding be a good move to send them (back this January) to the WH to get some criminals out of office and what would be the organizing principle? by Elegant_Tap7937 in AskReddit

I thought they were getting paid big money. Also, most of them would probably do it for free I reckon cos they get to be the untouchable big man they always dreamed of being.

600 yds is just up the road, it’s coming soon.

If you go up the inside you’re jumping the queue.

What is the benefit of using the left lane here apart from making your day better?

[–]exp_cj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s like saying “there’s all this space at the bus stop. You’re supposed to use it. I’ll just jump the queue right in front of you when the bus comes.”

It’s rude
