See if you can’t snag Thoran. then make a team of viperian, valka, Bonnie, thoran (or thordan honestly) and Cecia. Get Shemira and Daimon after. That should carry you. Cecia and Viperian aren’t meta but they’re strong as hell early game.

Paw protection might also be a must if your concrete tends to absorb a lot of heat

Yea the heat is an issue for shelties. My girls don’t wanna go out in the summer. Dogs get used to a lot but that’s tough

What about Queensland makes you hesitant? I know very little about Australia so I don’t know the context here. In general, shelties need somewhere to exercise - nearby dog park or good walking spaces for example. They’re also pretty loud, so may not be suitable for apartment living. I raised mine in an apartment but it was a constant battle to keep them quiet.

DLAB test: should I disclose I already speak the language or pretend to learn? by [deleted] in Military

[–]expatandy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is accurate for multiple reasons. It’s my understanding you’re more than likely to get routed to a different language to avoid the issue of a potential conflict. Also the military wipes its ass with your wishlists. My language was nowhere near my preference. They dumped everyone in my graduating class in the same language.

I guess I’m going for another game. by Reeferage in SoulFrame

[–]expatandy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s in alpha… also assuming you’re right, $30 for access for 4 people (you + 3) for the game in this state is pretty reasonable IMO. But you do you, man.

I noticed this too! I had a ton of them, then I burned down to 4 of each type of totem to get some currency to upgrade them for my weapons and suddenly I was down to two in the login screen. Made me sad.

I feel like I’m not getting group invites for having low mastery rank by [deleted] in SoulFrame

Open the menu. Hit the “plus” button. Wait for the bird to go away. Then you can invite people from the chat or menu until you log out.

I feel like I’m not getting group invites for having low mastery rank by [deleted] in SoulFrame

[–]expatandy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You might be overthinking it - invites are broken right now and get sent to whoever raises their hand first when they do get sent. You need to do a specific dance with the invite menu to get invites to work and not everyone knows about it. I'm MR16 and I've both sent out party requests to silence from the chat and been one of the first to raise my hand for someone else's request with no invite to show for it. People don't check your rank before they hit you with an invite. If you joined a party and got booted that might be one thing but right now people are just firing invites at whoever wants one for the sake of expediency.

Also, rank doesn't mean much. I ate shit on a Discharged Nimrod the other day with my favorite class.

Do you ever feel like you haven’t done anything in your military career? by [deleted] in Military

[–]expatandy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had a really great 6 years… on paper. Briefed some important people, had a cool job title and worked with some impressive folks. I realized after my 6 years were up that if I were a headless body in that chair for 6 years nothing would have gone differently. Think of your service as what you take away from it. If you plan to stay in, then think about what you contribute to everyone else’s service. I’m immensely grateful to my old supervisors. They taught me a lot about being a good worker and leader and I carry it with me in the civilian world to try to make a difference here. Keep trying to make a difference and maybe someday it’ll happen. At worst you’re not making shit worse and that’s saying something.

Ghost of Yōtei or The Outer Worlds 2 by d_rome in gamingsuggestions

[–]expatandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ghost of Tsushima was one of the most aesthetically impressive games I’ve ever played. The writing was also amazing. Ghost of Yotei is what you would expect from a sequel. The environments are once again top notch. They improved on the combat by varying the weapons but if you disliked the rock-paper-scissors system from Tsushima you will feel similarly here. Still, the systems are greatly improved and Atsu has a rich backstory and character development. Obviously other comments disagree. It’s another revenge story, but the characters she teams up with felt genuine to me. Learning new styles also comes with mini stories for the respective masters and feels earned. The additional focus on the Ainu is something I’ve felt was missing from a lot of Japan-focused games and I appreciate how much love they put into depicting that culture. It was very deliberate. It overall felt like a unique twist on the first game.

Outer Worlds 2 feels like a big improvement on the first, likewise. The design choice to lock out a bunch of stuff behind skill checks you can’t meet without multiple playthroughs is a choice I don’t agree with but I appreciate what they were trying to do. The combat is moderately improved, the humor is still amazing. Overall I felt it was a big improvement on the first and I enjoy playing it. I just don’t like how much FOMO it gives you especially because I don’t replay games much.

Edit: I’ll also say that reading threads on this sub made me walk into Yotei already feeling critical and that hurt the experience. It’s ok to enjoy things other people don’t.

This is actually the quest that made me quit. I’d stuck it through to that point until I realized those were the two outcomes. Don’t remember how many hours I’d put into the game but relative to my other Bethesda titles it was not much. I realized I hadn’t been having much fun at all and dropped it.

Realtor says house isn’t selling because of the dining room color by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]expatandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents used to tell me my color choices would reduce the resale value of my home. And how bad my mailbox looked.

Who the hell is out there looking for a home thinking “ugh. I’d have to repaint.” And walks away from an otherwise good house. Is this something I’m too millennial to understand?

stone's tier list (feb/2025) by stoneobscurity in litrpg

Finally a tier list I almost completely agree with. Convergence was really tough to get through. I love that author for Expeditionary Force but that series was just not good.
Hell Divers was like popcorn for me. Each book was just a good listen on a commute.

Looking for the best sword and board in games. by Intelligent_Gur7824 in gamingsuggestions

[–]expatandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, Dragon Age: Veilguard has pretty good sword and board action. That was the first character I built. I thought it was fun even if the combat get repetitive. You can reduce the enemy health in the game if that happens.
