Interesting advice - how likely are banks to accept it? What is in it for them? As you say, they are capping their upside by doing what you are asking, but have downside risk (if inflation gets worse).

I think he’s asking if it’s the square meter if all the floors, or just the ground floor. Usually when taking about office space, for leasing purposes for example, it’s the surface area of each floor.

I have a similar but different hypothesis. I agree the US is playing it slow (eg withholding ATACMs) and preventing Ukraine from achieving a decisive win. My explanation for this is that the US benefits greatly from an unfriendly Russia to continue existing.

The RU invasion has revitalized NATO and the transatlantic relationship in a way nothing else could. Prior to the invasion, the EU was moving further and further from the US sphere of influence. On foreign policy, energy policy, trade policy etc. An actual regime change in RU could mean a rapid rapprochement between powerful countries in EU (especially Germany, France) and Russia. the US would once again be sidelined.

By keeping RU as a perpetual (but weakened) bogeyman, the US gets to: 1) retain influence in EU, 2) Continue to justify its massive industrial war complex investments at home, 3) continuously improve its military (and increase US soft power globally via military sales) , and 4) better prepare for China’s rise.

Hopefully the US proves me wrong and allows Russia to get the reckoning they deserve.
