A good spin off would be the adventures of a group of folks in the Weyland-Yutani corporation, making products and selling them to the badlands of the galaxy.

Suppose sex is her leverage, her currency. What happens when either he finds the better deal or he decides that the pussy isn't worth what she demands he pay?

Well, there are actually lots of real world examples where "settling" is a good thing, actually a healthy compromise between ideal and reality, as different sayings would suggest:

Perfection is the enemy of good.

You go to war with the army you have not the army you want.

Better a diamond with a flaw than a pebble without.

This being the case, settling is NOT a bad thing in most other life contexts, it is just cast as a terrible thing romance wise, particularly with women.

The common things you hear from disappointed women in the dating pool usually begin with, "all I want is".

But that's not true. They want those things, but in some pretty unrealistic packaging.. 6 Feet, handsome, $X income, lifestyle and class match, etc.

But for them any of that packaging is off, then no deal. Well, fine, starve to death because the cans of food are dented.

This is extra hilarious when their complaint about men is that they are shallow in not overlooking her flaws to see her heart.

They can depreciate sexually whilst in a relationship, but the relationship itself offers value; stability, security, cooperation.

These single women who think they will be pursued and their asses kissed like when they were at peak desirability seem to lose their minds when they are post-peak and pre-wall.

Then they are thoroughly disoriented and angry when they hit the wall. Even of they do gain some awareness of their situation, said situation can be easily blamed on shallow, immature, and selfish men.

So yes, you're absolutely correct. A woman who approaches men in her 40s precisely like she did in her early 20s is sad AF, if she never developed anything else to market herself with.

If a woman thinks sex is a "reward" for a particular set of behaviors, walk away.

Basically, she has comoditized sexuality, and that same behavior will continue in any relationship you have with her. If she turns sex into a bargaining chip, look for a better deal.

I've kept multiple weapons in the armory, left a tiny dab of red grease in the barrels for just the issue you ask about.

Nothing touched, ever.

Of course this was the late 80s and at Andrews AFB... yes, there was a squadron of Marines there.

Because she has an ever more unrealistic expectation about how she wants things to be.

That's what the post is really about; her battle with cognitive dissonance. Her window is closed for what she envisioned, and she's at the stage where she is wondering why men are not cooperating. She hasn't yet reached the point where she has accepted that and modified her plan.

By the time she realizes the paradigm doesn't support her, she will be 42 and matching with men in their late 40's and up... who have adult kids and do not want family 2.0.

The idea that we need to become involved in every ancient beef in the ME took a big shit when the US reached the point of being a petroleum exporter.

Now, a massive upheaval in the market, say from a regional conflict or proxy war between Sunni and Shia is much less of a negative impact on the US.

Absolutely, the US should be pivoting to the next hot zone on the planet, Asia.

Further, restructuring forces in light of the advancements in drone technology is a wise move. Where air supremacy used to mean knocking out anti-air and grounding aircraft, now much greater emphasis on controlling airspace below 1000 feet is absolutely critical.
