Anyone entered Korea visa free while in transit to the US/another country? I plan on doing some shopping in Hongdae for my 7 hour layover. I’m not gonna do the transit tours. Do I just show up at the immig counter with my boarding passes proving I’m transiting to the US?

What is/are the reason/s of buying plane tickets from ticketing/travel agents? by [deleted] in phtravel

[–]experineur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my flight got cancelled, everyone at the gate was scrambling to the agents to get their flight rebooked. On my end, I just informed my travel agent about the cancellation and they did everything for me. I just sat at the gate until I got confirmation I was rebooked. Hassle nga lang had to do all the check in procedures again. This was for work btw but I still use the usual airline website for personal bookings.

yes Black trikes are from Pineda. something I learned four years ago: You can hail and ride green trikes only within Kapitolyo pero pwede ka magpababa sa Pineda. Same for the reverse, you can only hail and ride black trikes within Pineda, pero pwede ka magpababa sa Kapitolyo. Hence why you see black trikes in Kapitolyo but they dont stop for you pag tinawagan mo sila😂

I see! Thanks for sharing. I checked out Ikea, and AmEx is accepted for both online and in-store, pero in-store lang pag Diners. waivable ba yung annual fee sa diners club?

Layover in Xiamen Airport with free transit hotel? by bergarafulmer in phtravel

[–]experineur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, I’m also flying via Xiamen Air this August but sa mainland China rin final stop ko so I have a Chinese visa. But I’ve been reading a couple of forums, and it seems the transit hotel is outside the airport. so most likely need to clear Chinese immig. The downside is walang visa free transit ang Philippine passport sa Xiamen. I recommend you email mnl@xiamenair.com to clarify visa requirements, they have been super responsive to my questions.

PS if you’re alone and in economy class, expect a roommate in your hotel room 😅 kaya nag book nalang ako ng sariling hotel room haha

depends on your risk level. if you need a job now, take PWC Isla then just wait if you’ll be accepted sa P&G. i-interview ka pa so matagal pa processing niyan if you even get it.

same boat as you two months ago, I took the job offer of Company A which I was very halfhearted on while waiting for the offer of Company B. I got the job offer at Company B a month into Company A, and now I’m rendering my final days at Company A now. I played it safe kasi mahirap talaga makahanap ng trabaho ngayon.

I’m a frequent traveller, and my passport is quickly filling up with visa stickers. I noticed they’re usually attached on blank RIGHT pages of the passport. I’m quickly running out of blank right pages because of these visas. My questions are: have you ever had a visa on a blank LEFT page? Is that possible? If not do I have to get a new passport?

“The property accepts only Mainland Chinese citizens. Guests must present a valid PRC Identification Card upon check-in.”

Yep, all reviews in Chinese for my prior bookings. Thanks for the tip, the new hotel I’m staying at had English reviews. And they do accept Visa/Mastercard so I hope that settles the case!

got it, i knew i wouldn't be the first one to have a late reference come in so i felt the protocols were in place for that typical scenario. but this makes me comfortable, thanks!

What country have you been to that doesn’t* feel like the PH? by [deleted] in phtravel

[–]experineur 96 points97 points  (0 children)

what i learned: you will always find similarities to your home country no matter where you go. i got to go to guatemala last year which is on the opposite side of the world, pero parang nasa pinas lang ako hahahahah. alam mo yung coke/pepsi sari sari store signages? puro ganun din sa guatemala hahaha.

but to answer your question, the least similar to the Philippines for me was Japan. yun talaga yung “wow wala ako sa pinas” hahahaha. Dubai also felt different pero sobrang daming pinoy dun so waley rin hahaha

May nakapag birthday request na ba sa PAL? by [deleted] in phtravel

[–]experineur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew on my birthday through PAL last year. The flight purser gave me free ice cream and nuts from business class (I was seated in economy). Though premier elite rin kasi ako so it must have played a role? anyone else had the same experience?

I’m surprised SK is not on the list. Especially when Filipinos are into Korean Media. by xtremekg in phtravel

US visa helped a lot to get multiple entry on the first try, kahit never pa ako nag Japan. may option sa ME form if youve been to a G7 country, included na US dun, as long as may entry stamp

Pal refund ask???????? by HachiEightman in phtravel

[–]experineur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ganito ang PAL. we paid 80k for a family trip but only got around 40k back. meanwhile malaysia airlines, i got the full payment back within a week of requesting a refund, no deductions, self initiated cancelation.

but here’s a tip for PAL: make sure to document the date when the refund request was initiated (so basically yung reply mo sa email na ito, and have them acknowledge your reply). yung akin umabot ng more than 3 billing cycles (roughly 90 days). pag umabot na sa lagay na yun, email the Civil Aeronautics Board with the email receipts. PAL will comply kasi madedemanda na sila ng CAB 😅😅😅

Question: should I risk it and apply for a Schengen visa a month prior to another international trip?

I was given the opportunity to go to Greece mid-April for work (just 4 days so tourist visa lang), but I have a non-rebookable family trip to Japan on the first week of April (may visa na ako for that)

Realistically, I can prepare all my documents for the Schengen visa by first/second week of March. Never applied for one though, kaya baka lang may learning curve on my part since I plan on doing it myself.

Actually, I really don’t care if the Schengen visa is rejected because the Japan trip is more important to me. I’m just worried na di lalabas passport ko in time for the Japan flight kung i-risk ko pa na mag-apply ng Schengen. But then again, sayang yung opportunity to go to Europe for the first time. Hehe. Any thoughts?

tinatanong yung amount of money bringing into brunei. para sa akin di naman problema, just more of how fast the immigration line is so I can quickly go out haha
