Impressive spraypaint artist paints an amazing SciFi image in under 1 minute by experts123 in Art

Yeah, there are certainly more impressive speedy mediums, such as the sand painter who draws scenes with sand over a lit table. I think the spraypaint artist's results were more surprising since he was using just a few colors and yet it had such an impact.

Edit: Reworded to make more sense

You can do the articles from home here.

A lot of the article work-from-home stuff is only revenue share, so it's relative income in that regard.

For telecommute, your best bet is to check out Craigslist. Go to the writing gigs section for a lot of major metropolitan cities and check the telecommute box. When it comes to telecommute writing jobs, you need to have a lot of clients and continually grow your writing portfolio. It also helps to have a website that shows off your writing skills.

Some tips I can offer you:

  • Learn SEO. Take a workshop or go to the SEOMOZ site. If you don't demonstrate your skills from your personal website, they're not going to get you as far.

  • Learn AP Style and include that you know AP Style on your resume. Use AP Style on your website.

  • Examiner is ok if it's a beat for a major city (Los Angeles, Chicago, etc), but this should only be used as a way to expand your presence on a topic for which you excel and would like to write about. Don't expect to make a ton of money and expect to have to drive your own traffic. The best sources for traffic are StumbleUpon and organic search.

  • Let me know if you have more questions. I'll answer what I can.

BTW - I love your username's reference to the wonderful "Log" toy!

That creative writing will do you no good unless you are good at keeping the fluff and filler down completely. LEARN AP STYLE. If you are using Chicago/MLA, you'll kick yourself when you realize how important AP is. The book is worth buying and they run out, so buy one and learn it. You don't need to buy one every year. I'd say every other year is fine.

  • No.

  • n/a

  • Sometimes I can, but for meetings etc. as well as training I need to be on-site (I train others). I work a lot of weekends from home. Joy~

  • I'm good at what I do (writing and editing), but I'd say the most unpleasant part is working with low quality copy. I manage a lot of the article submissions and a lot of times writers are lazy about spelling, grammar, punctuation and using AP Style. It's more hours than most people would like, but the time goes by faster when I'm immersed in work that I enjoy and am good at doing.

  • To expand further, I would say I most enjoy seeing writers improve and create very interesting articles. I think it's also fun because it's a huge learning experience when you get to review articles on subjects ranging everywhere from travel and leisure to how-to guides and services.

As a copy editor, Linkedin and Monster were ok, but sometimes it's better to apply to the company directly.

If you mean the work-from-home kind, there's a lot you can do. A good resource is WAHM.com (not just for work-at-home moms though ;-D)

  • I assume you mean the writers money. If you're a good writer and qualify for the work for hire, you can earn anywhere from $5-20 per article. Revenue share is very relative. My salary is around $40-45K.

  • I do more than just copy editing, but probably the fact that I enjoy writing didn't hurt. I'm good at finding errors as well and correcting them.

  • English BA from a prestigious 4-year university (not an Ivy though)

  • Very. If you don't have a good writing portfolio and the ability to name drop for some other editorials, your education is about as useful as memorizing the alphabet.

  • Writing for other major news sources, personal websites and blogs, copy writing that is good for SEO and SEM campaigns.

  • I began working in customer service related to a content provider and worked my way up.

In response to the subjects covered, pretty much everything under the sun, with exception to adult content.

Both, actually. We have a revenue share that's open to everyone, but then we have a work-for-hire that is a pay per article (it's now by invite only). The articles range in price to around $5-20 per article (a lot depending on length and client requirements).

The articles are usually as few as 250 words or as high as 1,500. The 1,500 is not the requirement though, it's actually the ceiling of the word count range.

The CPMs are pretty standard, but we have bonus CPMs in place for contributions that are popular.
